Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal – North Landing Bridge –

Adjusted Bridge Openings

Effective immediately, the North Landing Bridge, Mile Marker 20.2 on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, continues to have an adjusted operating schedule due to on-going mechanical issues. The north (Virginia Beach) span will open on schedule on the hour and half hour from 0600-1900 and on demand from 1900-0600. This single, north span opening limits passage to vessels 35 feet in width or less.

In order to accommodate vessels and vessels over 35 feet in width, both spans will open on request to the tender. For all other vessels which cannot transit the single span safely, both spans are scheduled to open at 10:00 a.m. each day.

The bridge operator can be contacted on VHF-FM Channel 13 or (757) 482-3081.
