Great Bridge Locks – Deviation
Mariners are advised that the Great Bridge Locks, located at Mile Marker 12.0 on the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway & Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal, will be closed between the hours of 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on the following dates:
September 2, 2026
September 9, 2026
September 16, 2026
Outside those closures, the lock will be fully open for navigation. Those planning to use Great Bridge Lock to transit the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal are advised to plan accordingly.
