    • [EXPIRED] Latest On Tiger Pass (Mississippi River)

Prior to Hurricane Katrina, Tiger Pass was really the preferred passage for pleasurecraft cruising from the southern mouth of the mighty Mississippi River to the briny blue. In a much earlier note on this "Northern Gulf" page of the Cruisers' Net, Captain Andy reported that the great storm had swept all markers from Tiger Pass. Now, Captain Andy updates the cruising community about the remarking of this vital passage.

Update on Tiger Pass – Tiger Pass is the inland passage from Venice, La. to the Gulf of Mexico for all vessels proceeding to the west  who want to avoid going out of or around the mouth of the Mississippi River.  I last reported on the terrible condition of the aids to navigation along the pass several months ago.  It is with great pleasure that I can say that thanks to some very good work (U.S.C.G. or U.S.A.C.O.E.) from our government Tiger Pass is now a very well marked and a safe passage way.
