I had a great visit to Deep Point Marina and look forward to a return visit. Dock master Shan provided good information and shared his local knowledge. A taxi driver (Ellen, who lives aboard at the marina) gave us a ride to “town” for $8 where we enjoyed ice cold adult beverages and an excellent seafood dinner. The marina pool was refreshing and the complimentary washing machines/driers were an added bonus. Before leaving this morning we had an excellent breakfast in the coffee shop located in the Bald Head Island ferry terminal located next door to the marina. The fact that they support the CruisersNet makes this a worthwhile stop. Blades Robinson
Deep Point Marina, NC Deep Point Marina, near Southport, NC. Great marina, we were the late arrival so we were on or near the fuel dock. This was in front of the ferry station, as the ferry docked at the landing the wakes were more than you would expect at a dock, so the rocking from the ferry as it came and left was an issue until after 1:00 am and started early dark thirty the next morning. The marina is very nice the crew are great and Curtis treated us very well. A beautiful pool is near the dock masters office, just a short walk. We took full advantage, it is still very warm. Just left Deep Point Marina and can’t say enough great things about the staff, facility and the other boaters I met there. Everyone was extremely hospitable and ready to help with whatever you needed. Historic Southport is a good two miles away from the marina so a ride is needed. Also, there are no grocery stores in historic Southport so you need to go a little farther to get to a Food Lion or Walmart. However, there are lots of great restaurants in Southport. Try Loco Joe’s for an incredible pork sandwich and Bernie’s for a deep fried croissant! Docking fee was extremely reasonable and since we arrived in December there was a special on top of that for staying three days. We will come back!
We’ve stopped here before. liked it, and will stop again. The dockmasters are very helpful and gave us good info on highy qualified assistance we needed from Bennett Brothers. Also, very nice people live here on their boats. We’ll be back.
Deep Creek Marina: I had to hole up in this marina last spring to wait out a storm, facilities were above average, free use of the washer dryer, nice pool and a great friendly bunch of people. The staff was great, helpful and friendly. Fuel; available at a decent price. Only drawback was the very busy ferry terminal next door. I would highly recommend this stop to anyone AND the prices were reasonable. Bill S/V “Resolute”
This marina is located on the western shore of the Cape Fear River just north of downtown Southport. Deep Point has floating docks with slips and T-heads and is the operating terminal for the Bald Head Island Ferry. This marina is just a bit south of the NC State Ferry terminal for the Southport-Fort Fisher ferry. It is near the Cape Fear River channel Red marker 20 (nun buoy). Fuel is available and, seasonally, there is a café in the ferry terminal. Travel into Southport requires a taxi or a car ride. Taking the ferry to visit Bald Head Island is a convenient option when stopping here. Ray Kurlak

We just left . . . the Deep Point Marina.WHAT A GREAT STOP. We recommend the Marina. The docking price is right $1.14 a foot, with free laundry and swimming pool.Their organization donated hundreds of dollars worth of door prizes to the southern [MTOA] rendezvous. Please stop and say hello.Located of the Cape fear river at red marker #20,next to the Bald Head Island ferry. The bald Head Conservatory has been very kind to MTOA.Try and support them. Thanks to Cruisers Net we found a new jewel of a marina. In Southport, NC we “just went in for fuel” to the new Deep Point marina because we noted a very good price on fuel. Rob the marina dock master made us feel so at home that we ended up staying two nights and the price was right. $1.14/ft. with our Boat US discount. The baths and showers were extra clean and new, the pool looked great and the staff was so friendly and helpful. We definitely will be returning. The people can make or break the marina experience. Thank you Cruisers Net for keeping us informed and helping us to save some money on fuel and I am sure this service helps to spur competition in the fuel market. I know that we don’t even consider buying fuel from a marina who will not respond to your price inquires. Keep up the great work. Capt’n Joe aboard S/V C-Note

We have had an outstanding experience at Deep Point Marina. It is a new facility made great by the Rob Gandy and staff. They are truly committed and caring for cruisers. Rob has certainly gone above and beyond for us during our stay. Also, the basin is so protected, we weathered out two strong cold fronts here barely feeling the wind at all. I highly recommend Deep Point Marina.
We had a great experience in this new marina. They are just finishing up on these new facilities. Docks are great, Rob the manager was just great. I would recommend this to all boats looking for a place to stay in the Southport area. They have a can do attitude!
Deep Point Marina was one of our best stops on our south bound trip from Stoney Point, New York to Fernandina, Florida! They were still under construction at the time we were there, but the hospitality we received was unmatched. These people really care about their customers. The dockmaster (Rob Gandy) even loaned us his personal vehicle to go to the local grocery store. We will always make Deep Pointe Marina one of our stops when traveling up and down the east coast.
