We stopped here last March for a few days to stock up and service our boat before continuing north on our great loop journey. We had completed 2600 miles. When we got to the Fl/GA line we decided to pause our loop journey due to COVID. We called Paul Howe the dock master and asked if we could get a long term slip. We left our Albin 27FC docked for the past year. Paul took great care of us and he always provided friendly updates during my monthly calls. Highly recommend Ortega river marina. We have returned and are cleaning the boat, preparing mechanicals and will continue our loop journey north. Paul is an excellent marina manager and he lives on site. 3/20/21 Steve

Thank you Cruisers Net. We are above the bridge at Ortega Yacht Club Marina and planning to exit Monday. A great marina by the way, laid back, friendly, about 1/3 livaboard and walking distance to anything you need.

Location, location, location! Within walking distance of anything a boater could want. Secure marina with floating docks in NE Floridas best hurricane hole.

        I definitely recommend this place!

The marina is nice and the location is convenient. But had bad experiences with marina management. Rules seemed to be enforced or created at the whim of the dockmaster. Was not “Customer Friendly”.

While in Jacksonville we went up the Ortega River and stayed at the Ortega Yacht Club Marina.? We choose this marina since we were meeting family in Jacksonville.? It is a very nice marina with all amenities.? We paid 1.25 pf daily rate.? The marina is 1 block away from the very large Roosevelt mall with a West Marine, Publix and several other large stores and restaurants.? The Pier 17 Marine Supply is right next to the Ortega Yacht Club Marina.? It has absolutely EVERYTHING you could need for your boat…you just have to FIND it.? The owners are a 96 year old delight named Grace and her daughter Cynthia.? If you have the time to look you WILL find what you need and Cynthia has a “general” idea of where things are.? Be sure to tell them “hello” from us!
