Harbour Village was the home port for M/V WinSue from June 2002 until moving to Riviera Dunes Marina, Palmetto, FL, in 2005. Good to hear that all is well there. Thanks Phil and Sandy.

Harbor Village Marina is just off the ICW. Just north of Wrighsville Beach. They have really nice floating docks and we were put on the outside wall finger docks. The dock master was there to help us get hooked up and gave us a ride in the golf cart to the dockmasters office to get checked in. It’s a long walk in fact that evening I just dropped the dinghy into the water and used it to get some ice. The office and fuel docks were just across the fairway and to the left of where we were docked but the walk would have been all the way around the marina. It was just a one night stay; we left early the next AM.

This marina is between the Surf City Bridge and the Figure Eight Island Swing Bridge near ICW red marker 94. It too offers a bail out point on those long days when bridge timing and travel speeds do not work out well. There are floating docks in this marina, which primarily caters to private slip holders. There are a few transient docks and fuel is available. There are no restaurants or stores nearby.

This marina is hidden but a good stop. Daylight service. Costs reasonable. Contact first on cell phone.

Cruising News: First off, so sorry to hear about your Mom.
We just tied up in Hampstead at Harbour Village Marina. We’ve learned that transients are now welcome at any empty slip and not just the fuel dock. You still need to call the dockmaster on the phone to make a reservation. The attitude of the community seems to have changed in these trying economic times and all are once again welcome. The Chinese restaurant still delivers to your boat and there is a new Italian restaurant that does the same. This is a great stop if you don’t want to run all the way to Wrightsville Beach from Morehead City/Beaufort.

State of the art floating docks,. friendly folks, good chinese food delivery so you can take a break from the galley. entrance looks narrow but plenty deep.
A good stop since there are few marinas north of Wrightsville beach and almost no anchorages for larger boats.

        Claiborne:
Anyway I left and tonight am in Harbour Village Marina in Hampstead NC. I normally stay in Beach House Marina but what with the Easter weekend Beach house was full.
Harbour Village Marina also is a nice protected marina with good cable and wifi. The only issue with them is that you normally need to contact them by phone and VHF will not get them a lot of the time. The only food delivery places are Dominos pizza and a Chinese place. The entrance channel is well marked and was dredged (12 feet mid tide) and new docks since last I was here in 2005.
