Located on Motts Channel, which is just south of the Wrightsville Beach bridge, the marina is on the north side of the channel about a tenth of a mile east of the ICW. This marina provides dockage for transient boats primarily on its long floating face dock. Fuel is available and stores and restaurants are within walking distance.
This marina is particularly useful as jump off point prior to the five bridges when going north on the ICW, or as an end of day port if making an offshore run from the Beaufort Inlet to the Masonboro Inlet just south of Wrightsville Beach. Access via the inlet to Banks Channel and Motts Channel makes it easy to reach Seapath. The only difficulty (that is well known) is that Motts Channel has a tendency to shoal where it meets the ICW (see Cruiser’s net report).

We’ve been here for a week with transmission troubles, the staff was great as was the courtesy car. Very clean, close to basic needs (grocery, hardware stores). A bit rough in strong SW winds.

Very important – when coming into this anchorage! Red daymark 24 is destroyed. Stay far to the green side (almost outside of the channel near where R24 is located on your chart. There is a barge that unloads here, he pushes up to a ramp on the green side and keeps his motor running; the prop wash digs a deep hole on the green side and mounds it near R24. Depths as shallow as 3 feet have been reported at R24.

This was our 3rd stay at Seapath. It is an easy marina to dock at and use of the courtesy car is a plus. We might have hit them on an off day, but I found the crew not as friendly and helpful as our last visits. Bought fuel ( diesel ) for $2.99/gal.

        Hi Claiborne
I am indeed headed north. I spent last night at Seapath in WrightsvilleBeach and although I like their docks and the ease of getting in and out I can attest that they’re not really transient oriented. Their bathroom/shower is one single room. The dock hands are great and regardless the current or wind the face dock is easy to mate to and never rocks too much. Their wifi is very poor though if you are not right up close to their dock office. Last night the Waterway Guide people spent the night there and seem like nice people but of course they were right up next to the office! Seapath also has a nice courtesy car that always works.
