[EXPIRED] “Emergency Maintenance Dredging” to Begin In Fort Pierce Inlet Channel 2/4/13, near AICW Statute Mile 966
Fort Pierce Inlet pierces the Eastern Florida coastline between Dynamite Point and Hutchinson Island with an entrance range and an inner range which intersects the Waterway at statute mile 966. Note that the dredging described below, in this article cherry picked from the latest Local Notice to Mariners, will take place in the inlet channel, and NOT at the AICW/Inlet intersection!
FLORIDA-FORT PIERCE HARBOR-FORT PIERCE INLET: Emergency Maintenance Dredging.
Lucas Marine Acquisition Company, LLC will commence emergency dredging operations on or about February 4, 2013 in Fort Pierce Inlet Entrance Channel, Florida. Dredge operations will be conducted during daylight hours only 7 days a week until approximately mid to late March, 2013. At times the dredge equipment (two flat deck barges, one large crane, and one survey boat) may take up half of the navigable channel. Lucas Marine will be monitoring VHF Marine Channels 14 and 16.
