LNM: Rocket Launch, Nov 7, east of Wallops Island, VA
VA – ATLANTIC OCEAN – WALLOPS ISLAND – ROCKET LAUNCH
The Launch Director, National Aeronautics and Space Administration – Wallops Flight Facility, Wallops Island, Virginia, has advised that the area in the Atlantic Ocean within the existing Danger Zone off Wallops Island and Chincoteague Inlet (depicted as 334.130) as shown on National Ocean Service Chart, will be hazardous to navigation because of a rocket launch during the periods and times.
The test windows are:
Primary: November 7, 2024 from 09:15AM to 02:45PM.
Alternate: November 8, 2024 from 09:15AM to 02:45PM.
Public ship avoidance area are in effect and bound by:
14.97 nautical miles hazard area approximately 14.2 nautical miles east of pad 3 at centerpoint position 37-42.95N, 075-13.42W (37°42.9500N / 075°13.4200W, 37.715833 / -75.223667) .
17.4 nautical miles hazard area approximately 41 nautical miles east of pad 3 at centerpoint position 37-17.49N, 074-58.54W (37°17.4900N / 074°58.5400W, 37.291500 / -74.975667) .
