Previous reviews all apply generally. We’ve stayed here almost every year when southbound for the past 5 and the only difference this year was that the wifi was bad to non-existent, unless you take your computer up to the office area. Other boats we spoke with reported the same.
Note:When docking check wind forecasts and if possible tie up with your bow into prevailing. We find it handy to check current at day shapes on approach so as to have an idea how fast it is running, and to know which side of the dock to request a tie up on for this reason.
Main docks are in fairly good shape, other docks are old and almost scary. Bathrooms and laundry clean and plenty of hot water.

Georgetown [Landing] Marina is good..we have stayed many times. Walk into the town.
The water flow is super fast here..be on the lookout wheb getting fuel as the current throws you against the docks.

Very good marina. People are very helpful. They helped us move our sailboat to other side of facedock to point into wind for storm. Not many marinas this considerate. Arranged for free transport to local WalMart and stores. Highly recommend a stay here on way through ICW.

We are first timers on the ICW and can’t say enough good things about Georgetown Landing Marina. They couldn’t do enough for us and helped us with restaurants and incidentals. We had no real experience docking in the presence of a strong current and they responded right away on Ch 16 and helped get us in. Each day that we went up and down the ICW they asked us where we were going and about when we’d expect to be back. Agree w/statements about their general orientation to sport fishing but it had no effect on the hospitality they showed us.

Great place to stay. The dock staff were very friendly and helpful (including Bella the yellow lab pup!) The bathrooms were very clean. It was an easy walk into town. We were inside the long face dock and had no problems in strong winds from both the south and north. Being at a sportfishing marina wasn’t a bad deal–someone didn’t want their king mackerel catch and gave it to us!!

Cruising News: We visited both Charleston City Marina & Georgetown Landing within the last six months. I agree with the opinion expressed about
Georgetown Landing on the web site. The marina is oriented towards sport fishing. The office is very friendly, the walk into town acceptable, Wifi not reliable, currents are strong & docking on the outside in heavy weather is not a good idea.

We have stayed at Georgetown Landing Marina for at least six years in our trek up and down the waterway. It is always an easy in and out for us. They answer the phone and radio promptly. Very long face dock, easy to get fuel. A young staff of dockhands but always skilled and knowledgeable. Free wi-fi does work. Excellent restaurant adjacent to the marina and is within walking distance of some food stores. The last time we were there was this past April. Only downside is no cable TV.

We are currently at Georgetown Landing ($4.50/ft/wk with BoatUS). They can’t do enough for you here. It’s furthur from town but still walkable. We’re on a nice floating dock, a large “t” straight out from the office. The current is strong and it appears exposed but we weathered one really bad blow very well. The charter captains have been great and we enjoyed the excitement of a really large tournament and subsequent partying last weekend. We saw lots of beautiful dorado and wahoo. There is a very nice butcher on Fraser (hwy 17) who went out of his way to get us what we were looking for. He also said to call and since they deliver to the Front st restaurants they could drop an order off at the marina. We have taken advantage of Enterprise’s weekend special for car rental and locals have given us lots of places to explore. We have enjoyed our stay here. The old houses and churches are nice. It’s a short car ride to good plantation tours south and Brookgreen gardens to the north. Charleston is an hour away by car and Murrell’s Inlet a half hour. We would come back to Georgetown again and stay at Georgetown Landing Marina.

Hazzard Marine is one of the best most friendly marine me and my wife have ever stopped at!
We were on our way from Carolina Beach nc to the Excuma islands in the Bahamas when we had some unexpected boat problems. Hazzard Marine was the closes marina with a travel lift so we limped on in not knowing anybody there or having reservations.
WOW is all i can say!! the folks there we so helpful and friendly.
The entire staff helped with all the repairs/rental cars/meal suggestions/shipping of repair parts, etc etc.
After 5 days there we hated to leave and move on.
The prices are reasonable and the marina is very well kept.
GREAT PLACE FOR A LAYOVER/WEEKENDER/OR JUST TO MEET THESE WONDERFUL FOLKS.

Also there is Hazzard Marina a bit farther south of HW. Hazzard is the first marina on your starboard when coming into Sandpit River, Reed T. is the dock master. Great haul out service available there. They did our bottom this winter without a hitch and fair price. Chris can put you on great Techs in the area if you require electrical, mech or any other needs. HM is a bit farther away from downtown but you can easy walk it.

Equus is on the hard in Georgetown at Hazard’s Marina & Boatyard with a shaft- cutless bearing- stuffing box problem that was about to sink us . Hazard’s is a first-class operation now. I remember it from years ago as only a rickety old pier with a bad fuel pumps. It is now small but five star for service and accomodations..

Hazzard Marina in Georgetown gets a big plus. Their automatic fuel dispenser works fine with a VISA or MasterCard. We got in at sundown (after closing) after 12 hours on the ICW, and filled up just fine. The dockmaster had also authorized to take a face dock position for overnight and put the fee in the mailbox if we left before they open in the morning. We liked the catch of the day at Captain’s Quarters.

Moving a move north we stopped at Hazzard’s Marina in Georgetown. Great facilities on long floating pier. Laundry and showers clean, working and near pier. They have Captain’s lounge and free wifi but you need good antenna to get it from out on pier. Just a 4 block walk to town. The dockmaster on a Sunday was there to help us tie up but was not knowledgeable about the town. We enjoyed Hazzards. Good stop.

Headed south from Beaufort, NC on ICW. Stopped over at the old Boatshead Marina in Georgetown. It is now called Georgetown Dry Stack Marina. This is a very recent event as is evidenced by some improvements which hopefully will be undertaken very soon.
The people are very friendly and this facility should improve to be a nice stopover.
Mens and Womens restrooms and showers need some attention but are adequate.
Dockage is $1.50 per foot and $5 per day for 30 or 50 amp electrical per day or $10 for both.
One note, I could not raise the marina on the radio and had to call at 843-546-1700. Hopefully, the will be equipped with handheld radios before long. Adress is 18 South St. James Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. email at gdsm5461700@gmail.com

Because of high winds and very cold temps we pulled in to Boat Shed instead of dropping the anchor. This is our second stay here and we find it a great place to tie up. They have changed the marina office to a larger building and now have a super stocked ship’s store. Cost of $1.40 per foot includes electric, WiFi, water, and cable TV hook-up. The fuel hoses can easily reach any boat on the dock. Several trash containers spaced along the pier. Friendly staff and close to town and all the restaurants.

Boat Shed Marina. New docks and great people. We were sailing north out of Charleston Harbor to Georgetown and got stuck when the wind shifted to the north and we had to tack several times. We got there two hours after they closed but two dock hands stayed to help us dock. Very good people and we will definitely go back there.

Georgetown, SC, tied up at Boat Shed Marina for two days. Barely adequate non-climate contolled showers (one in each rest room) but inexpensive dockage and easy walking distance to historical downtown with good restaurants and a harbor walk. I would try Hazzard Marine next time with a bigger, new floating face dock and perhaps better shore facilities. The entire town closes on Sunday, with the exception of a few places, but a great small town stop nevertheless.

        Hi Folks:
We had 3 beautiful days of cruising the ICW since we left Writesville Beach. We arrived in georgetown SC on saturday afternoon and took a slip at the Boat Shed Marina. We have been traveling with a couple on a sail boat, we both make about the same speed. They have done the trip 5 times previous to this year and are familiar with a lot of good places to anchor and dock. They are Bob and Lynn Guyott from Maine. We have to stay in Georgetown at least until Thursday because of gale force winds south of us. We have calculated that we will not get to Florida before we want to return home so we have made arrangements to leave the boat at a marina in Brunswick GA. The place was recomended by a couple of boaters, including Bob and Lynn who will be staying there for the winter and will keep an eye on our boat for us.
Georgetown is a very old city and has lots of nice historic buildings and houses, they also have a waterfront walkway. In colonial days large amounts of rice and indigo were grown here and exported to England and Europe.
The weather remains unseasonably cold and we have been having rain
on and off for the last two days with heavy overcast in between.
So that’s all the latest news, I will write again when I can.

Ourselves and several other boaters had a great stay at Boat Shed Marina at Georgetown three weeks ago. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, and helpful, and the rate was $1.40 all inclusive, no discounts. Boat Shed is between Hazard and Harborwalk. Nice floating dock and fine water and power, clean restrooms and showers, but no laundry. It is an easy walk to a nice rice plantation museum, some fine restaurants, beautiful residential area, and an old small downtown area. One of the boaters stated that the meal at the Rice Patty Restaurant was one of the best on the Loop. I also understand that you can use the mooring balls, if one is available, and no one oversees them. We had a very fine stay at Boat Shed.

Had not originally planned to stop in Georgetown, but mechanical issues dictated otherwise. So glad we did. Harborwalk is an excellent marina and is situated within walking distance of the downtown area and many wonderful restaurants. Facilities are very clean and among the best you'll find on the ICW. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Lexie for her hospitality. We would definitely stay there again.

I had very accommodating service from Lexi at Harborwalk Marina. She stayed after hours to assist myself and another cruiser and provided excellent instructions on how to enter the harbor, prepare the boat for tie off and access the dock slip on the inside of their marina. The marina facilities were exceptionally clean and in “like new” condition. Rates were reasonable and the nearby restaurants were welcoming. Cruiser’s Net guest will not be disappointed.

Stopped in on our way north after visiting Charleston. Had not visited in awhile but can say Georgetown has not let a fire slow them down. Great biking and walking along the tree lined streets. We remember this marina when they were a service station and boat lift. Now they have a new shower facility and great floating docks plus expansion plans. First Class all the way – town and marina. Friendly people.

Chris Carroll, manager of the Georgetown Harbor Walk Marina, is a pro at line handling and people handling. A truly historic and gracious stop. Be sure to tour the local museum and have dinner at the Rice Paddy Restaurant. We rate both the restaurant and the marina as among the best on the AICW from Norfolk to Florida.

Stayed there [Harborwalk Marina] 4/26 and 427/13. Good floating docks but fixed docks need replacing (waiting on permits to replace with floating). Nice shore facilities, very nice town, some good restaurants (try Limp’in Jane’s and Aunnies), good stores and shops. Grocery will send car but is only a nice walk anyway. Interesting history, take tour and see rice museum. Will stop here again in future.

We have stayed at the Harborwalk Marina the last two trips South. Nice facility. We like the city of Georgetown as well. We’ve eaten at a couple of the restaurants but at the moment can’t remember the names. Will add them as we head North next week from FL and I look at our logs.

We have spent the last 2 winters in GT, SC and can tell anyone and everyone you will not find a better place in SC to visit. Harborwalk Marina is on the south end of the boardwalk. The Dock master is Chris and his assistant is Steve. Both are top shelf guys that really know the marina and cruisers business. You can walk to most all eat places as you are right on front street when you get off the dock. There is a large park a few blocks away.

Jim and I spent a month at Harborwalk on our way north this summer and are now here for a few days on our way back to Florida. The marina is small but the service from Chris and Steve is top-notch. Everything is maintained very well, from the office to the rest rooms, the laundry area and the docks. All of it is always clean and tidy. Very convenient location – step off your boat and in less than a minute you’re in downtown Georgetown. Walk a couple of minutes in the other direction and you can buy shrimp fresh of the boats. Georgetown and Harborwalk are both on our “places to stop at again” list. And if you’re here for a couple of days, be sure book a spot on Captain Rod’s Low Country Tour boat and go shelling at the beach!

We stayed there for 3 months in the winter and have stayed there several times before. They are great, Chris is a real Pro. He always goes the extra mile to help everyone. There are several really good marinas in GT but we switched to Harborwalk because of service and location. Don’t let one guy that had a bad day desuade you from staying at HW. See you in the winter Chris!

We were in Georgetown for one week. We anchored our cat in the harbor and dinghied over to Harborwalk Marina to use their laundry and shower facilities. Chris was very friendly and helpful. The night before our departure, we stayed on the face dock– fueled/filled our water tank, and once again used the very nice laundry/bath facilities. We were overall very pleased until the day of our departure. We had made prior arrangements with Chris to stay until late afternoon (my husband works from the boat and needed wi-fi. ) Around lunchtime that day, the dockmaster, Dave inquired about our departure time and I informed him of our arrangement. He was not very friendly about our staying past noon– We felt very pressured by him to leave and it really put a negative spin on an otherwise pleasant experience. We totally understand that dock spaces can at times be limited, but Dave’s attitude made us believe he simply wanted us “off the dock”. We would consider staying here again, but will be more careful about verifying “check – out” times.

Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown SC. We second the recommendation below. We were going south TG week and ran into a mechicanal issue as we were docking for 2 nights at Harborwalk. Chris and Mike arranged to get us a tech we could trust to correct our problems. We had to order parts, (1 week to get in) so we arranged a good monthly rate with Chris and enjoyed TG week in GT and returned home by car. Our boat remains there until Jan. Everyone at the marina is first class. Very dog friendly marina and town. We could easily stay there for an entire season and be happy. Just steps to all the downtown amenties but very laid back.

Stayed in Georgetown for 4 nights waiting for our autopilot to arrive from Defender. Mike and Chris at Harborwalk Marina could not be nicer. We paid for showers (we were anchored), bought our gas from them along with ice. We would come back to this town again and again. Nice places to eat, shop, provision and it is safe to keep the boat.

Harborwalk Marina, Georgetown – had another great trip to Georgetown a month ago. The marina is in perfect condition, with incredible service (we arrived late and they waited for us and had three dock hands to assist with a an easy landing. Excellent facilities at this marina, in fact the cleanest restrooms and laundry I’ve found yet! New docks and a great view of downtown. We were amazed at the recently redone boardwalk all along the harborside. Did a lot of exploring of the Georgetown area on bike and had two great meals, one at Portofino and the other at our favorite Rice Paddy.

We just stayed at Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown, SC and found it newly renovated… great showers and laundry. Low tide is a trip coming in – stay to starboard after the entry marker and hug the docks. At Harbor Walk Marina depth is around 6.5 ft. at the inner most dock at low tide. Outside and finger docks have plenty of water even at a dead low tide.

The marina now has a new laundry facility that also houses two bathrooms. I believe it is climate controlled. My boat was moored in the innermost dock and am in 10 feet of water. Nice floating docks. Chris, the dockmaster who assisted me, was very helpful. This is the closest marina to downtown Georgetown, a couple blocks closer than the Boat Shed and Hazard Marine. For some reason, there were no seats in the bathrooms when I showered. It was only after I left that I noticed two plastic seats on the porch that should have been in the bathrooms for changing.

Subject: Georgetown – New floating docks
Cruising News: My name is Chris Carroll. I am the Operations Mgr. for the Harborwalk Marina in Georgetown SC. I wanted to let everyone know that our much promised floating docks have been installed and are now in operation. We now have wireless internet, 100 channels of cable TV, 100amp service, a pump out that will suck the bottom out of your boat. There are about 729 feet of new floating dock, we have plenty of space now. Starting in two weeks will begin a new face lift on our older docks that we did not take out. Plans are being drawn now for a new 1800 sq foot bath house, lounge, dock office and laundry facility that we hope to have in by the fall season. We appreciate the patience everyone has had during our construction phases. Our dock master, David Rowe, is still with us. So gives a call and make a reservation today. 843-546-4250.

Georgetown: Our favorite restaurant, Orange Blossom is closed. We were sorry to hear that the owner had a bad car accident and has returned to Greece. We highly recommend planning to be in Georgetown on anything but a Sunday. Most everything seems to be closed on Sundays. There is a nice looking store for provisioning – it looks like a wine shop, but there is fresh produce in the back. It’s on the main road, maybe a block towards town from Harborwalk Marina.
Harborwalk Marina has brand new docks; there is a big floating face dock and it is only a few steps from downtown. Free wifi. Courteous service. There are no toilets or showers as they are in the process of building them. We tried to hail Hazzard Marine, a place we have stayed at before but there was no answer on the phone and no answers to our VHF hails.

Our 24 hour stay at Leland Oil Co. was very enjoyable. Situated in Jeremy Creek , the face dock is a very "easy in/easy out". We were a short distance from a fleet of shrimp boats which dolphin followed in for an easy meal. It's a very rustic and peaceful setting. Nothing fancy, but they had everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lacey and Paschal really made us feel at home. We would definitely stay there again.

Docked at Leland Oil Company on our way to Charleston on 5/31/14. All I can say is anyone bypassing this marina and town are missing out big time. Great place to ride bikes along tree covered streets. A couple of fish markets for fresh shrimp and fish. Local people very appreciative of your business. Easy in and out along a face dock in no wake zone.

Came in to McClellanville to get out of the rain. The Leland Oil Company was empty as this is not the time that Cruisers go north. the attending Dock master, Rutledge, was wonderful. Loaned his truck to us to go to the diner for lovely fish/shrimp dinner. we were to leave the next morning but the radar showed nothing but big thunder storms. We decided to enjoy this lovely place for another day and do some engine oil change. Found a problem which led a series of folks that found the right guys to fix the situation. Such good and talented people in the small out of the way places. When I commented to the young man working on the problem I asked him how he learned to do these things his comment was “we are in the middle of nowhere so we have to know.”
I highly recommend this stop to all. floating docks are wonderful as well with the huge tides.

        Hi Claiborne,
Diana and I were through McClellanville last month and thought you’d like an update on what Dwayne’s up to at Leland Oil.
ICW veterans have long known about the shrimp boat docks at McClellanville, SC (STM 430.0).
In the past, you’d trade beer to raft up for the night In the tiny harbor of Jeremy Creek. But, of course, you’d have to stay up with the shrimpers to drink the beer … and then untangle your boat at oh-dark-thirty so they could get off to work and you could catch a few hours of sleep before moving on.
Now there is a more “civilized” alternative. Last year, Dwayne Merritt at Leland Oil put in floating docks to provide a place for recreational boats to tie up for the night, allowing them to keep their beer … and get some sleep.
We recently stayed at Leland Oil and saw first-hand the new floating docks. Very nice! And Dwayne continues to make this facility more welcoming to cruising sail and power boats.
McClellanville is worth a saunter, a quiet village of well-kept houses clustered on a few blocks near the shrimp docks. With its small streets, lack of traffic, and friendly residents, walking the town feels like going back a few decades.
There is one stop in town, the local seafood restaurant, T.W. Graham. In true small-town style, it has abbreviated hours but is worth the wait. FRESH-FRESH seafood!
Best and see you On the Water,

We stayed at Leland Oil in McClellanville on 16th May 2012 on our 50′ Benetau with a 6′ draft. The entrance to the the creek was a little shallow but no real problem (a foot above low). At the dock during a normal low tide we still had 6″ on the bottom. Plenty of space on the new dock easy tie up and departure. The fishing boats all respected the no wake which made for a very pleasant quiet nights sleep, we will visit again.

We haven’t been there since Leland Oil Company began the renovation. Jeremy Creek was being dredged during our last visit, and we were extremely happy with the rumor that there was a possibility of a dock in progress. We own six acres on Drayton Lane, immediately across from ‘Gussie’s’ house, and the church which is on the grounds of the slave cemetery. (This church was turned on its foundation during Hurricane Hugo in 1989) McClellanville is on the Historic Registry for those who may not be aware; and the two restaurants in our small little town can compete with any 5 Star restaurant around. Plus, the seating is a lot more comfortable.
We are full-time cruisers and are proud of McClellanville for its citizens caring enough to progress slowly without spoiling its heritage. Since cruisers and McClellanville share a lot in common, we look forward to taking our sv Gypsysails into Jeremy Creek with the first opportunity that prevails.
Thank you Leland Oil Company, we will be sure to share with as many cruisers as we can, because they appreciate communities like ours.

Stayed here 4-30. Great new floating docks as advertised. Daune greeted us at the dock and did a good job tying up the boat. We had a wonderful afternooin biking thru the town. Saw a 1000+ year old oak tree. The village museum is only open Thurs Fri and Sat. We will have to see it next time,

With our 5 foot draft we were able to depart one hour after low tide on 12 Apr 2012. Nice small southern town – easy place to walk and explore. March 31, Stayed at Leland Oil Company and had a peaceful night! Brand new floating aluminum docks with new pedestals shows a strong desire to cater to more cruisers. Met and assisted dockside upon arrival. The fuel is convenient and the price is competitive. The rest of the amenities are a little Spartan but the walk around the town is spectacular if you like tree and Spanish moss covered streets and classic southern small town homes. A wonderful stay in a working harbor and we will keep coming back.

We stayed at Leland Oil Co. on January 7, 2010. What a beautiful location! Claiborne Young’s Cruising Guide to South Carolina and Georgia was what lured us in, and we agree, McClellanville is mystical and magical. Time has completely forgotten it, and that is a joy to experience. The Episcopal Church, overhung with Spanish Moss and live oaks, is spectacular. Don’t fail to go in.
Leland Oil Co. is very friendly and most accommodating. The restroom is basic, but provides a shower and all other necessities. We will certainly Return on the return north to Norfolk.

If you walk out water street from the marina and turn right on oak and left on pinckney you will soon see TW Grahams seafood restaurant on the right. This is a wonderful place run by friendly folks who really know their seafood. Just beyond Grahams and a few small shops you will find the Pinckney Street Kitchen serving fresh sandwiches, subs, wraps and Breyers Ice cream.

Your cruising guide asks for comments concerning McClellanville, so I thought I would forward my impressions.
We left Georgetown intending to anchor in Awendaw Creek and found that your cruising guide no longer recommends it. So we thought, what the heck, we’ll see what McClellanville is like and check out Leland Oil Company because it sounds intriguing. I would not hesitate to recommend it and you’ll be lucky if you get in. But you need the right mindset to enjoy it.
McClellanville is like stepping back 200 years in time. There is nothing here—one restaurant, no shopping of any kind except fresh seafood—and we like it that way. The streets are lined with huge oak trees dripping with Spanish moss. The people are incredibly friendly and Leland Oil Company is great. The floating dock is about 100 feet long and currently filled with us (45 feet) and a 40-foot Catalina. Good thing we called ahead! The fixed dock it’s attached to looks like it’s on its last legs, but since it still standing at the moment, that works for us. But we are enjoying this place far more than we did Georgetown. We are sitting in the cockpit watching the shrimp trawlers coming in against a beautiful sunset with nary a steel mill in sight. It’s definitely our cup of tea.

        Dear Claiborne,
We spent a lovely afternoon and night at McClellanville, SC at Leland Marine’s small floating dock. Love that climb up the rungs of the wooden ladder from the floating dock to the fixed dock at low tide!
At low tide the entrance to Jeremy Creek, McClellanville, has five foot depths. We were just above low tide and found depths of a hair above 5 feet in the middle of the entrance sandbar. The folks at Leland’s advised us to favor the starboard side entering the creek, which helped.
The shrimp we bought off the shrimp boat docked ahead of us was among the best we’ve ever had; tasted like lobster.

Leland Oil Co. McClellanville ($1 a foot)
This is another place that is somewhere in the middle, from Wacca Wachi or Georgetown to Charleston, for those who want a dock not an anchor. Dwayne is the owner and although the docks are not upscale they are secure and have power and showers. Ladders up from floating dock unless it is high tide then you step across. These are working fuel docks where the owner is working to improve the amenities and the visual look of the area to get more cruisers in. I have stayed here three times and since it is halfway it is perfect. Each time Dwayne has driven me up to either the ‘Red Dot’ store (think booze) or to the fresh seafood store. This is a working port so you get fresh local seafood in season or frozen off season. This seafood store has some of the best shrimp dip along the ICW. If you travel with animals be advised Dwayne has a dog, ‘Beau’ who wants to play with dogs and it seems every house off the property has some type of dog. Dwayne puts Beau inside when cruisers stay over who have dogs. I would recommend this for some one looking to tie up for the night or to hold for weather not a destination marina.

Cruising News: I’d like to comment on docking in McClellanville. I don’t think there is any place I’ve enjoyed docking more than in McClellanville. It is, indeed, rustic, but that’s its charm. Dolphins swam around our boat for hours, the sunsets were glorious, the shrimpers were great to watch coming in and going out, the town is beyond quaint. To me, that’s cruising at its best.

        Hi Claiborne,
We paid $2.12 including tax at Leland Oil in McClellanville this afternoon; noticed you didn’t get info from them this week. Â Had a wonderful lunch at TW Graham in town. As another cruiser wrote, this is a great change of pace stop and or just a nice transition from anchoring out as we have for the past few days: Cumberland River, Wahoo River, Vernon River, Beaufort and Church Creek in our case. By the way, we had good room and holding for our 56 footer in each spot, and winds have been in the high 20’s all week.

I live at Wild Dunes and eat at Morgans Creek Grill at the Isle of Palms marina quite often. They do a very good job with fresh seafood. Happy hour is 4 to 7 week days as long as you sit at the bar, either on the first floor or upstairs. Appetizers are half price and beers, wine and cocktails are reduced price. The mussels (only available on the first floor) are to die for.
In season they have an oyster roast on Saturday afternoons in November, December. Usually have music on weekends. Good Spot.

Isle of Palms Marina – always a great stop when coming back from Georgetown. Morgan Creek restaurant has only improved and now has outdoor dining, along with their full upstairs covered deck or indoor areas. The meals only get better every time we go! So much to do at IOP Marina – several rental places for wave runners, kayaks, or stand up paddle boards. The beach is a short bike ride away and facilities are in great shape.

We needed to wait around for a new air handler in the Charleston area, and wanted to get north of Charleston Harbor. Called Isle of Palms to make a reservation, but they told us they were full. When we explained our predicament, the dockmaster told us to come up and he would find a place for us somewhere. We stayed there 3 days having a new air handler installed and getting the system flushed. The ship store and deli were excellent and we had no problem provisioning and even ordered lunch from the deli, which we ate at the dockside tables. We had dinner at Morgan Creek Grill and listened to a live blues duo while we looked out over the boaters coming and going. A nice family atmosphere.

It includes a deli, TV viewing area, boat stuff, wine and cheese stuff, general groceries, souveneirs, and nick nacks. Restaurant on premises with great food and one of the nicer views on ICW. $4.00 Happy hour appetizers, make sure to try the fried portabellas with blue cheese dip my gosh they are great. I stay[ed] at a small marina, Toler’s Cove Marina, tucked in off the ICW just south of the Ben Sawyer Bridge. It is home to a number of sport fishing boats but they do have room for transients. One of the best things about this marina is there is no current to deal with. The only drawback is they have no restroom or showers at the present time. I found the location to be ideal. It is only about a mile from Sullivan’s Island where I walked to Poe’s Restaurant for one of their famous burgers. About 1.5 miles in the other direction are a couple of grocery stores, West Marine, and number of local restaurants. If you need transportation, the marina manager, Kevin, can arrange it for you. Great spot!

Visited Toler’s Cove Marina November 12 thru 14, 2011. The marina has been overwhelmed by the condo-plex called Marsh Harbor at Toler’s Cove. The only facilities available for transients are an overnight tie up at the fuel dock, access to a rudimentary head (toilet and sink), and 30/50 amp electric and water. Approach depths and dockside depths were in the 6 to 8 foot range at low tide. Fairways are very tight, with no real room to turn a 37 footer around. Had to drift away from fuel/face dock, then back out fairway, make a reverse T, and then exit past the condos. Best thing about the facility was the price, still 1.25/foot in Charleston area.

        Subject: found shoaling
Cruising News: Whilst going thru the middle of the entrance to get to Toler Cover Marina (we never made it in) we found what should have been 8′ at low tide, to be 0′ and we ended up grounding. We waited for some tide to come in and were able to get under way. Plus the experience with the person at the marina was not very good. They were non-responsive, rude and then wrong. We were told our 5’9″ draft would be fine and given the bums rush on the cell (they didnt respond to the radio) and practically hung up on us. Also another sailboat found the ground where the harbour in Charleston opened up to the ICW….beware.
