Hazzard Marine is one of the best most friendly marine me and my wife have ever stopped at!
We were on our way from Carolina Beach nc to the Excuma islands in the Bahamas when we had some unexpected boat problems. Hazzard Marine was the closes marina with a travel lift so we limped on in not knowing anybody there or having reservations.
WOW is all i can say!! the folks there we so helpful and friendly.
The entire staff helped with all the repairs/rental cars/meal suggestions/shipping of repair parts, etc etc.
After 5 days there we hated to leave and move on.
The prices are reasonable and the marina is very well kept.
GREAT PLACE FOR A LAYOVER/WEEKENDER/OR JUST TO MEET THESE WONDERFUL FOLKS.
Bill and Devon “WIDEOPEN”
Very helpful people and nice location is you want close access to downtown. We had several meals at The River Room resturant and were pleased with the quality of their food and reasonable prices.
If you like 100+ year old houses, this is the place for you! The older districts of town begin just next to Hazzard Marina. Don’t miss the Rice Museum.

Headed south from Beaufort, NC on ICW. Stopped over at the old Boatshead Marina in Georgetown. It is now called Georgetown Dry Stack Marina. This is a very recent event as is evidenced by some improvements which hopefully will be undertaken very soon.
The people are very friendly and this facility should improve to be a nice stopover.
Mens and Womens restrooms and showers need some attention but are adequate.
Dockage is $1.50 per foot and $5 per day for 30 or 50 amp electrical per day or $10 for both.
One note, I could not raise the marina on the radio and had to call at 843-546-1700. Hopefully, the will be equipped with handheld radios before long. Adress is 18 South St. James Street, Georgetown, SC 29440. email at gdsm5461700@gmail.com
We sayed at the Baotshed on April 17 2011 The staff were friendly but the price is now $1.50 a foot and thw WiFi does not reach the transient docks.
The fuel dock is the transient dock, either on the inside or outside. 1.50 per foot includes 30 amp and cable. Floating docks. No pumpout.
We stumbled upon the Boat Shed Marina when once again we were not able to find sutible anchorage in the harbour.
Can not say enough about how great they were with us. Even gave us a lift to the Ice House to fill our propane tank.

Because of high winds and very cold temps we pulled in to Boat Shed instead of dropping the anchor. This is our second stay here and we find it a great place to tie up. They have changed the marina office to a larger building and now have a super stocked ship’s store. Cost of $1.40 per foot includes electric, WiFi, water, and cable TV hook-up. The fuel hoses can easily reach any boat on the dock. Several trash containers spaced along the pier. Friendly staff and close to town and all the restaurants.

Had not originally planned to stop in Georgetown, but mechanical issues dictated otherwise. So glad we did. Harborwalk is an excellent marina and is situated within walking distance of the downtown area and many wonderful restaurants. Facilities are very clean and among the best you'll find on the ICW. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks especially to Lexie for her hospitality. We would definitely stay there again.
Stopped in on our way north after visiting Charleston. Had not visited in awhile but can say Georgetown has not let a fire slow them down. Great biking and walking along the tree lined streets. We remember this marina when they were a service station and boat lift. Now they have a new shower facility and great floating docks plus expansion plans. First Class all the way – town and marina. Friendly people.
Jim and I spent a month at Harborwalk on our way north this summer and are now here for a few days on our way back to Florida. The marina is small but the service from Chris and Steve is top-notch. Everything is maintained very well, from the office to the rest rooms, the laundry area and the docks. All of it is always clean and tidy. Very convenient location – step off your boat and in less than a minute you’re in downtown Georgetown. Walk a couple of minutes in the other direction and you can buy shrimp fresh of the boats. Georgetown and Harborwalk are both on our “places to stop at again” list. And if you’re here for a couple of days, be sure book a spot on Captain Rod’s Low Country Tour boat and go shelling at the beach!
We were in Georgetown for one week. We anchored our cat in the harbor and dinghied over to Harborwalk Marina to use their laundry and shower facilities. Chris was very friendly and helpful. The night before our departure, we stayed on the face dock– fueled/filled our water tank, and once again used the very nice laundry/bath facilities. We were overall very pleased until the day of our departure. We had made prior arrangements with Chris to stay until late afternoon (my husband works from the boat and needed wi-fi. ) Around lunchtime that day, the dockmaster, Dave inquired about our departure time and I informed him of our arrangement. He was not very friendly about our staying past noon– We felt very pressured by him to leave and it really put a negative spin on an otherwise pleasant experience. We totally understand that dock spaces can at times be limited, but Dave’s attitude made us believe he simply wanted us “off the dock”. We would consider staying here again, but will be more careful about verifying “check – out” times.
Stayed in Georgetown for 4 nights waiting for our autopilot to arrive from Defender. Mike and Chris at Harborwalk Marina could not be nicer. We paid for showers (we were anchored), bought our gas from them along with ice. We would come back to this town again and again. Nice places to eat, shop, provision and it is safe to keep the boat.
Docked here today, the facilities are great! Short walk to numerous restaurants.
The marina now has a new laundry facility that also houses two bathrooms. I believe it is climate controlled. My boat was moored in the innermost dock and am in 10 feet of water. Nice floating docks. Chris, the dockmaster who assisted me, was very helpful. This is the closest marina to downtown Georgetown, a couple blocks closer than the Boat Shed and Hazard Marine. For some reason, there were no seats in the bathrooms when I showered. It was only after I left that I noticed two plastic seats on the porch that should have been in the bathrooms for changing.
9/16/09 – Staying the night here at Harborwalk. Nice floating docks AND the climate controlled new restrooms/showers are open and very nice. Two washers ($1.50) and two driers ($1.50). Dock fee is $1.75/ft.

Our 24 hour stay at Leland Oil Co. was very enjoyable. Situated in Jeremy Creek , the face dock is a very "easy in/easy out". We were a short distance from a fleet of shrimp boats which dolphin followed in for an easy meal. It's a very rustic and peaceful setting. Nothing fancy, but they had everything we needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lacey and Paschal really made us feel at home. We would definitely stay there again.
Docked at Leland Oil Company on our way to Charleston on 5/31/14. All I can say is anyone bypassing this marina and town are missing out big time. Great place to ride bikes along tree covered streets. A couple of fish markets for fresh shrimp and fish. Local people very appreciative of your business. Easy in and out along a face dock in no wake zone.
Came in to McClellanville to get out of the rain. The Leland Oil Company was empty as this is not the time that Cruisers go north. the attending Dock master, Rutledge, was wonderful. Loaned his truck to us to go to the diner for lovely fish/shrimp dinner. we were to leave the next morning but the radar showed nothing but big thunder storms. We decided to enjoy this lovely place for another day and do some engine oil change. Found a problem which led a series of folks that found the right guys to fix the situation. Such good and talented people in the small out of the way places. When I commented to the young man working on the problem I asked him how he learned to do these things his comment was “we are in the middle of nowhere so we have to know.”
I highly recommend this stop to all. floating docks are wonderful as well with the huge tides.
Capt Dick
We stayed at Leland Oil in McClellanville on 16th May 2012 on our 50′ Benetau with a 6′ draft. The entrance to the the creek was a little shallow but no real problem (a foot above low). At the dock during a normal low tide we still had 6″ on the bottom. Plenty of space on the new dock easy tie up and departure. The fishing boats all respected the no wake which made for a very pleasant quiet nights sleep, we will visit again.
Stayed overnight on Sunday 4/29. Great new floating dock. Full up that night, 7 boats. Great place between Georgetown ans Charleston. Amenities are spartan, should be upgraded on ground level. Met by Dockmaster Duane to tie up. Highly recommended.
Stayed here 4-30. Great new floating docks as advertised. Daune greeted us at the dock and did a good job tying up the boat. We had a wonderful afternooin biking thru the town. Saw a 1000+ year old oak tree. The village museum is only open Thurs Fri and Sat. We will have to see it next time,

March 31, Stayed at Leland Oil Company and had a peaceful night! Brand new floating aluminum docks with new pedestals shows a strong desire to cater to more cruisers. Met and assisted dockside upon arrival. The fuel is convenient and the price is competitive. The rest of the amenities are a little Spartan but the walk around the town is spectacular if you like tree and Spanish moss covered streets and classic southern small town homes. A wonderful stay in a working harbor and we will keep coming back.
We were here a few years ago on Easter. Duane invited us to acompany he and his family to a local restraunt for Easter Dinner. It was wonderful. Another time he gave us a ride to a grocery store.
Now the new floating docks are done…They came out great…
Easy acces, new power pedastals Nice wide allum float.
What we love about this place is the hospitality, the down home charm of the area for taking a walk. A couple of FRESH seafood stores….(walking distance) This trip we are here in time for softshell crabs.
Check out the 1000 yr old Live Oak tree.
The only thing you can hear here……..Nothing!
Talk about peace and quiet.
The entrance off the ICW. Stay in the center is the key
We draw 5 1/2′ no prob 1/2 tide.
Gased up on 04/03/2010, neat ole town atmosphere!
We stayed at Leland Oil Co. on January 7, 2010. What a beautiful location! Claiborne Young’s Cruising Guide to South Carolina and Georgia was what lured us in, and we agree, McClellanville is mystical and magical. Time has completely forgotten it, and that is a joy to experience. The Episcopal Church, overhung with Spanish Moss and live oaks, is spectacular. Don’t fail to go in.
Leland Oil Co. is very friendly and most accommodating. The restroom is basic, but provides a shower and all other necessities. We will certainly Return on the return north to Norfolk.

I’m a small sailboat needing gas. Tried calling Ch16 repeatedly even after they responded to another vessel. Not sure why they did not want to help me, so I took my $200 fuel purchase to MaritimeHarbor, exceptional nice service, and bonus saved $15.
Stayed here April 18 2011. The transient rate was increased April1 to $2.00 a foot. I had checked the price on the websites after I checked in… it was to late to move to the next marina…and they were still showing $1.50 a foot.
The dock boy was rude when I showed him the print outs and wished me a good evening.
A place to avoid
Gased up here on 04/05/2010 great dock hands kind of tight getting in but staff was helpful.

One night stop on a busy Saturday night: $1.50/ft. for dockage includes use of a porta-john on the pier, in serious need of cleaning. No other facilities available. No showers! Dock staff said the owner hopes to build some in future. Channel seems to have been dredged, as we saw plenty of water all the way in.
We pulled in here after a long day southbound on the ICW. They were full, but the staff was very helpful and tied us up at the fuel dock. Easy in, easy out. Good, convenient stop.
Visited Toler’s Cove Marina November 12 thru 14, 2011. The marina has been overwhelmed by the condo-plex called Marsh Harbor at Toler’s Cove. The only facilities available for transients are an overnight tie up at the fuel dock, access to a rudimentary head (toilet and sink), and 30/50 amp electric and water. Approach depths and dockside depths were in the 6 to 8 foot range at low tide. Fairways are very tight, with no real room to turn a 37 footer around. Had to drift away from fuel/face dock, then back out fairway, make a reverse T, and then exit past the condos. Best thing about the facility was the price, still 1.25/foot in Charleston area.
Reviews from Cruisers (9)
Previous reviews all apply generally. We’ve stayed here almost every year when southbound for the past 5 and the only difference this year was that the wifi was bad to non-existent, unless you take your computer up to the office area. Other boats we spoke with reported the same.
Note:When docking check wind forecasts and if possible tie up with your bow into prevailing. We find it handy to check current at day shapes on approach so as to have an idea how fast it is running, and to know which side of the dock to request a tie up on for this reason.
Main docks are in fairly good shape, other docks are old and almost scary. Bathrooms and laundry clean and plenty of hot water.
Georgetown [Landing] Marina is good..we have stayed many times. Walk into the town.
The water flow is super fast here..be on the lookout wheb getting fuel as the current throws you against the docks.

Very good marina. People are very helpful. They helped us move our sailboat to other side of facedock to point into wind for storm. Not many marinas this considerate. Arranged for free transport to local WalMart and stores. Highly recommend a stay here on way through ICW.
Dean & Nancy aboard S/V Pegasus
We are first timers on the ICW and can’t say enough good things about Georgetown Landing Marina. They couldn’t do enough for us and helped us with restaurants and incidentals. We had no real experience docking in the presence of a strong current and they responded right away on Ch 16 and helped get us in. Each day that we went up and down the ICW they asked us where we were going and about when we’d expect to be back. Agree w/statements about their general orientation to sport fishing but it had no effect on the hospitality they showed us.
R & T Fishleder aboard M/V Tessie Belle
Great place to stay. The dock staff were very friendly and helpful (including Bella the yellow lab pup!) The bathrooms were very clean. It was an easy walk into town. We were inside the long face dock and had no problems in strong winds from both the south and north. Being at a sportfishing marina wasn’t a bad deal–someone didn’t want their king mackerel catch and gave it to us!!
Subject: SC wish list
Cruising News: We visited both Charleston City Marina & Georgetown Landing within the last six months. I agree with the opinion expressed about
Georgetown Landing on the web site. The marina is oriented towards sport fishing. The office is very friendly, the walk into town acceptable, Wifi not reliable, currents are strong & docking on the outside in heavy weather is not a good idea.

We have stayed at Georgetown Landing Marina for at least six years in our trek up and down the waterway. It is always an easy in and out for us. They answer the phone and radio promptly. Very long face dock, easy to get fuel. A young staff of dockhands but always skilled and knowledgeable. Free wi-fi does work. Excellent restaurant adjacent to the marina and is within walking distance of some food stores. The last time we were there was this past April. Only downside is no cable TV.

Subject: Georgetown Landing update (Marina)
Cruising News: Any weather from the South or south east causes rocky conditions in the marina but especially on the face dock. Land’s End Restaurant is good food but marina wifi is finicky and no cable on face dock. Exposed to wakes from passing small boats.

We are currently at Georgetown Landing ($4.50/ft/wk with BoatUS). They can’t do enough for you here. It’s furthur from town but still walkable. We’re on a nice floating dock, a large “t” straight out from the office. The current is strong and it appears exposed but we weathered one really bad blow very well. The charter captains have been great and we enjoyed the excitement of a really large tournament and subsequent partying last weekend. We saw lots of beautiful dorado and wahoo. There is a very nice butcher on Fraser (hwy 17) who went out of his way to get us what we were looking for. He also said to call and since they deliver to the Front st restaurants they could drop an order off at the marina. We have taken advantage of Enterprise’s weekend special for car rental and locals have given us lots of places to explore. We have enjoyed our stay here. The old houses and churches are nice. It’s a short car ride to good plantation tours south and Brookgreen gardens to the north. Charleston is an hour away by car and Murrell’s Inlet a half hour. We would come back to Georgetown again and stay at Georgetown Landing Marina.
