FLORIDA – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – PALM SHORES TO WEST PALM BEACH –SOUTHERN BOULEVARD BRIDGE: Bridge Construction.
Johnson Brothers Corporation has advised the Coast Guard that they will start working on the Southern Boulevard Bridge replacement on April 1, 2017. There will be floating equipment in the vicinity of the bridge for the next four years. Future updates will be provided as the temporary bridge is built and the old bridge is removed and replaced.
UPDATE:
The Coast Guard has issued a temporary deviation to the operating schedule of the Southern Blvd (SR 700/80) Bridge, mile 1024.7, across the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, at West Palm Beach, Florida. Due to construction of the new Southern Blvd Bridge, the Southern Blvd Bridge will be unable to open to marine traffic from 7 a.m. on April 9, 2018 through 6 p.m. on April 16, 2018. There will beconstruction equipment blocking the channel while the new span is being installed and the mechanical startup is being performed. There will be a full channel closure during this time. From 7 a.m. April 17, 2018 through 6 p.m. April 30, 2018, the bridge will be able to accommodate a full channel opening with a 4 hour notice by contacting Clay Bores at 407-488-0738.
