⛵ Set Sail This March—Perfect Winds, Warm Waters 🩴

Spring is here, and there’s no better time to set sail in the Florida Keys! March brings perfect sailing conditions with warm temperatures, steady breezes, and calm waters—ideal for both beginners and experienced sailors. Whether you’re cruising through the mangroves, spotting dolphins, or enjoying a breathtaking sunset on the water, this is the season to experience Key Largo at its finest.

We still have waterfront cottages available this March, so don’t miss your chance to book a stay & sail getaway at Key Lime Sailing Club. Enjoy a private sailboat with your cottage, plus all the comforts of a relaxing island retreat.

      Available Cottages for March

If your preferred dates aren’t available, text Irene about cottage hopping— she can help find a combination of cottages to fit your stay! We also have availabilities in April as well.

Call or text 305-451-3438 or reply to this email to reserve.

When you book one of our cottages, you get more than just a great escape. You also get free access to water amenities. If you’re a qualified sailor, you can use a 22′ sailboat. You can also take a relaxing kayak ride, paddleboard on the bay side calm waters, or explore the clear waters with our snorkel gear. This is what the Florida Keys are all about, and it is why guests keep coming back to Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages. It’s a hidden gem that captures the true spirit of the Florida Keys, just like in Jimmy Buffet’s songs and Hemingway’s stories.

Plus, if you’re interested in learning to sail, we have a sailing school right on-site. The American Sailing Academy offers a 2-hour Introduction to Sailing, a 2-hour refresher (for those with experience but needing a little refresher), and ASA beginner and advanced certified classes.

You can learn to sail in just 2 days with our in-house sailing endorsement class (non-certification). When you pass the endorsement class, you would have the use of one of our 22′ Catalina sailboats for FREE during the rest of your stay. (Non-guests can rent a sailboat for $300 a day but it’s free for our qualified sailor guests staying at Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages.)

For more information on the sailing classes, call Capt. g at 305 896 5555, or send an email to captg@keylimesailing.com.

And that’s not all! We’ve got more in store for you such as sailing excursions* which include captivating sunset cruises, immersive kayaking tours, and exhilarating snorkel adventures. Departing from the KLSC docks, these fantastic outings are easily accessible to all our guests. Don’t miss out on these extraordinary sailing excursions; they’re the key to creating unforgettable memories.

*Booked through Morning Star Sailing Charters and guests staying at KLSC receive a 10% discount.

Event Marketing Specialist Kristin Ossola had the privilege of attending the kick-off event for the Great American Cleanup (GAC) at John’s Pass Park in Madeira Beach on February 28. Representing the City of Gulfport, she joined community leaders and volunteers to stand united against the growing issue of litter in Pinellas County. The morning kicked off with a presentation, followed by a demonstration of the Bebot, an innovative beach-cleaning device, and a cleanup of Madeira Beach. It was an inspiring event that underscored the importance of collective action in preserving and protecting our local environment.

SPARRING WITH MOTHER NATURE’s latest addition. I’m very honored that you’re following along. Thank you from the bottom of my writer’s heart.

The voyages of a Classic Wooden Sailing Yacht can be transformational as well as educational. Since August 2024, STEADFAST has been undergoing extensive repair and refit. In boating terminology we are hauled out “on the hard” in Cambridge, Maryland, USA. What a great place to be aground! The archives contain extensive details on what we have undertaken.

My weekly posts intermingle sailing tales with the challenges, lessons, joys and intricacies of restoring 90-year-old STEADFAST.….please weigh in as we manage and learn from this unexpected joust. Thank you! ~J

A Wooden Boat is a strong, reliable entity constructed with Mother Nature’s finest materials.
