Set in beautiful Camden Count, NC, the Dismal Swamp Canal Welcome Center provides free dockage for cruisers' on the Dismal Swamp AICW Alternate Route

The Dismal Swamp Canal Welcome Center is located adjacent to the Dismal Swamp State Park, offering trails, exhibits and ongoing programs in Camden County, NC. Docks are provided by the Dismal Swamp Canal Welcome Center, A CRUISERS NET SPONSOR and a NC DOT Rest Area facility. Our thanks to Director Sarah Hill for this report. See also National Heritage.

Good Morning,

The Dismal Swamp Canal is open to navigation and locks are operating on their normal schedule. We are also happy to report no duckweed in the canal. Recent boaters have passed along wonderful comments and experiences cruising through the canal this year. We love seeing boaters coming our way, and want everyone to have a positive experience. The Dismal Swamp Welcome Center is open and staff is available to answer questions, provide resources and assist the public. The Dismal Swamp State Park, located adjacent to the center, offers trails, a boardwalk and exhibits.
