      Go Birding

This winter, find something to tweet about in the parks! Our spectacular landscapes are home to an amazing diversity of winged wonders. Join our naturalists throughout the season for bird walks at Caw Caw Interpretive Center, the Folly Beach Pier, the Lighthouse Inlet Heritage Preserve Inlet, and more birdwatching sweet spots.

      Disco Fever

Make Donna Summer and Tony Manero proud! On February 1, people with disabilities and their families and caregivers can show off their best dance moves at our Inclusive Silent Disco. You wear your grooviest threads, we’ll provide the accessories: glowing wireless headphones that let you choose between tunes spun by two live DJs! Get your tickets today.

A rainbow effect covers the swamp waters of Caw Caw Interpretive Center

      Rainbow Connection

Pro tip: Head to Caw Caw on a sunny day this winter for a chance to see the famous rainbow swamp! ROYGBIV comes to Caw Caw whenever tannins from decomposing plant material create a prismatic residue on the surface of cypress swamps. We spotted the first “show” of 2025 on January 8 – plan your park visit and send us your photos if you spot one!

      Top of the Class

Teachers, get that “whoa, cool!” moment with your students during a field trip to the Charleston County parks. Our skilled environmental and social studies educators offer kids a hands-on experience that can’t be beat – right in nature’s classroom!

      Work With Us

Join the Charleston County Parks team this summer! We’re looking for enthusiastic, energetic folks to serve as camp counselors, lifeguards, interns, and other roles that help make the parks a great place to work and play. Check out all the opportunities on our website and apply today!
