Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary offers shelter to a vast array of wildlife found in the Atlantic Ocean. The diversity and abundance of animals in our warm, southern waters exemplifies the effects of conservation management on the entire web of life. Capitol Hill Ocean Week (CHOW 2020) will focus on the global issue of protecting biodiversity. The breadth of life in our ocean is astounding. Building a sustainable global economy that protects nature is critical to people’s health and well-being. CHOW 2020 will be your hub for stimulating discussions. We are planning a full day of activities, including plenaries and concurrent breakout sessions on how science and technology are advancing our understanding of the marine environment, the role of protected areas in conserving biodiversity, and how to engage people as stewards. We value the networking that occurs at CHOW, and we intend to create virtual spaces for those essential connections to continue. We will showcase the amazing work of our partners through a virtual exhibit hall and facilitate social gathering through a closing happy hour. With the accessible virtual format, CHOW 2020 is an opportunity for people from across the U.S. and the globe to come together for a conversation on how we can work together to conserve the variety of life on Earth for the long term health of our communities and the planet. Join the Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Foundation and friends as we chart a sustainable future together. |
