City of Gulfport Annual Paving of Roadways

On Monday, December 14, the City of Gulfport initiated its annual paving of roadways. Asphalt Paving Systems Inc. was the awarded contractor who will be milling and repaving the streets. The milling operation consists of removing approximately 1½ to 2 inches of old pavement and replacing it with new asphalt. This paving program prioritizes streets to be resurfaced based upon the condition of the asphalt. It is anticipated that there will be some interruptions to the regular flow of traffic where these paving projects will take place. Those interruptions will be appropriately marked with signs to alert motorists, and residents in these areas impacted will receive adequate notice prior to the project commencing. Motorists are asked to use caution as they travel through these construction zones. Residents with questions on the City wide paving program can call the Public Works Department at (727) 893-1089 or visit https://mygulfport.us/public-works-department.
