After an unexpected snowfall this past week, we are now enjoying milder weather and warmer temperatures here in Edenton!

This month, I’d like to highlight three items.

​2025 Spring Speakers Series​ Each month during spring, The Cupola House Association hosts guest lecturers during their 2025 Spring Speakers Series. On March 4th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., Matt Markoya will present an in-depth look at “Treasures in the Dining Room Hutch.” Mr. Markoya is the owner of Old North Pewter, a local artisan who crafts lead free pewter using pre-industrial methods on his 19th century farmstead. His knowledge of fine China and 18th century history will enhance listeners’ appreciation for the Cupola House and its treasures. This event is free, but you are kindly requested to register here.

​Fourth Annual St. Patrick’s Day Sip & Shop One of Edenton’s fun traditions is the St. Patrick’s Day Sip & Shop event in historic downtown Edenton! Join us on March 13th to celebrate the luck of the Irish while you wander through charming downtown shops, discover unique gifts and treasures, and support local businesses. Don’t forget to wear green and raise your glass to an evening of shamrock-themed shopping, sipping, and celebrating! This event starts at 4:30 p.m. and ends at 7:30 p.m. After a celebratory evening, you can dine at one of Edenton’s many downtown restaurants. We hope to see you there! ​

​The Pilgrimage Tour of Historic Private Homes and Sites​ This biennial event is extremely popular, so now is the time to secure your tickets before they sell out! Hosted by the GFWC Edenton Woman’s Club, you’ll be delighted by the exquisite private homes and gardens featured on this year’s tour, which will happen on April 11th & 12th. During this self-guided tour through historic Edenton and the surrounding countryside, docents in colonial attire will share the history, architecture, and stories of each unique property. You won’t want to miss this year’s Pilgrimage!
