Hwy 13 -‘Gilmerton’ Bridge – Delay of Maintenance Deviations UPDATE

Mariners are advised that the Gilmerton (US13/460) Bridge, across the Elizabeth River Southern Branch, Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, mile 5.8, at Chesapeake, VA will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position.
To facilitate maintenance, the bridge will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. from 8:30 a.m. on December 15, 2025, through 3:30 p.m. on December 19, 2025. During the closure, the bridge will open on signal for all vessels at 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at any time. The drawbridge will not be able to open for emergencies. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.997(c). Mariners should adjust their transit accordingly and use caution when transiting the area.
