More than two decades ago, Paul visited the Florida Keys for a working vacation and rented the Sailfish Cottage with an amazing sunset view. After experiencing the calm bay waters and the whole peaceful and friendly charm of the keys, he fell in love with the place.

 

After two weeks, Paul was convinced that the warm water retirement location is the life he wished to live so he invited the mother of his children to join him. She loved it! They met with the owners and told them he was not leaving until they made a deal. A week later, the deal was done. He purchased the first of three lots, which was the start of Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages!

 

Throughout the years, Paul expanded the business operation of Key Lime Sailing Club and Cottages (KLSCC). He added the American Sailing Academy (ASA), and, with the help of Capt. g, so many of our guests are now sailors. Capt. g was a former guest who also fell in love with the keys and KLSCC. 

 

Another business Paul added is the Morning Star Charters, which is also run by Capt. g.  

 

The resort has served thousands of guests. Most of them know Irene. She takes reservations and has become familiar with many of you in the process.

 

We are still going strong to this day, thanks to our many guests! Paul and the KLSCC staff and ASA crew are living the dream and sharing this “little piece of heaven” with both non sailors and sailors from around the U.S., and the world, who have experienced the real Florida Keys in Key Largo.

Our location on the bay side of Key Largo is near some of the best dive/snorkel sites, island excursions, bars, and restaurants, and close to the Everglades. 

 

Inside and outside of our property, you’ll never run out of things to do. You can paddle board, kayak, swim, snorkel, and fish around our docks. If you are out kayaking or bicycling during the day, pull into one of the nearby restaurants and bars.

 

If you’re into sailing adventures, you can sail to the Nest Key and experience the mud bath in the middle of the island, or sail to the mangrove jungle towing your kayaks then paddle through the canopied trail into the hidden lake where you can see some wildlife.
