This brief security zone runs from a line just upstream and parallel to the Ravenel Bridge south to a line due west from Patriots Point, i.e. roughly the area covered by the accompanying chartlet. This zone is well west of the Waterway and should not impact Waterway travel.
SOUTH CAROLINA – CHARLESTON – COOPER RIVER: Establishing Security Zone for the Cooper River Bridge Run
The Coast Guard will establish a security zone on the waters of Cooper River, and Town Creek Reaches in Charleston, South Carolina during the Cooper River Bridge Run on April 5, 2014 from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Persons and vessels will be prohibited from entering, transiting through, anchoring in, or remaining within the security zone unless authorized by the Captain of the Port Charleston or a designated representative. The security zone will create a regulated area encompassing a portion of the harbor, including all waters of the Cooper River, and Town Creek Reaches
encompassed within the following points:
32Â° 48â€™ 32â€ N / 079Â° 56â€™ 08â€ W, thence East to 32Â° 48â€™ 20â€ N / 079Â° 54â€™ 20â€ W, thence South to 32Â° 47â€™ 20â€ N / 079Â° 54â€™ 29â€ W, thence West to 32Â°47â€™ 20â€ N / 079Â° 55â€™ 28â€ W, returning to 32Â° 48â€™ 32â€ N / 079Â° 56â€™ 08â€ W.
