[EXPIRED] CALL FOR COMMENTS: Critical Change of East Coast ATONs
TIME SENSITIVE: MSIB 13-22 regarding changes to Atlantic Seacoast System and buoy deployment in South Carolina and Georgia. DEADLINE IS AUGUST 14!
Dear AIWA Recreational Boating Member Groups,
Good morning and I apologize for the large broadcast email, but we wanted to make sure that you are aware of the attached MSIB Number 13-22. The Coast Guard is planning to remove lighted buoys and make other changes at a number of inlets that enter and exit from the intracoastal waterway and other coastal water bodies in Georgia and South Carolina. One of our board members recently brought this to our attention and our Association has concerns about the safety ramifications if this action proceeds.
Please distribute this notice widely and ask your community to submit comments against this large-scale change, and encourage the Coast Guard to schedule public meetings for more input. All comments should be emailed to: D07-SMB-DPWPublicComments@ uscg.mil or Andrew.m.engle@uscg.mil with “SC/GA SEACOAST AIDS TO NAVIGATION” as the subject line. Comments can also be mailed to Commander (dpw), Seventh Coast Guard District, 909 SE 1st Ave (STE 406) Brickell Plaza Federal Building, Miami, FL. 33131-3050 to be received by August 14, 2022.
Please let us know if you have any questions and we will do our best to answer them.
Thanks,
Brad
