The newest small ship in the country, American Legend is sailing American’s 8-Day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys itinerary, roundtrip from St. Petersburg Florida. The fully domestic cruise visits:

The first Charlotte Harbor visit for American Legend for Fall 2024 is this Friday, November 29th with arrival scheduled for 12:30 pm.

Legend sets sail today, along its first cruise. The newest small ship in the country is sailing American’s 8-
Day Florida Gulf Coast & Keys itinerary, roundtrip from St. Petersburg Florida. The fully domestic cruisevisits: St. Petersburg, FL; Marco Island, FL; Key West, FL; Punta Gorda, FL; and offers an optional pre-
cruise hotel stay in Tampa, Florida. The cruise explores the Sunshine State’s Gulf Coast, offering manyshoreside excursions in every port-of-call including a full day exploration of Dry Tortugas National Park.
This week’s first cruise will also feature extra fun, including American Legend’s official christening
ceremony, on Wednesday, November 27th when the ship is docked at Mallory Square in Key West. The
ceremony will be held on board with the ship’s Godmother, Key West Mayor DeeDee Henriquez, cruise
guests, and American Cruise Lines executives. On Thursday, November 28th, Thanksgiving will be

City Manager’s Gulfport Community Update Gulfport Community Update: October 27 – November 2, 2024 Daylight Saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, November 3. Remember to reset the time to one hour earlier on stove/microwave clocks and other clocks that don’t automatically reset.
The Supervisor of Elections reminds voters that mail ballot requests expired in December 2022 due to new state law. Voters can renew at https://www.votepinellas.gov/, by calling 464-VOTE (8683), or online at https://www.votepinellas.gov/
checkmymailballotstatus. Requests will expire again on December 31, requiring renewal for future elections. Due to significant hurricane damage to the Gulfport Recreation Center and Lions Club, the Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections office has announced that voters in Precincts #208 and #218 will cast their ballots for the November 5 general election at First United Methodist Church, 2728 53rd Street.

Arts Center Workshops: November Friday November 1st at 5 p.m. – Soak-Staining – Adult Workshop: Learn about the unique method of painting invented by abstract artist Helen Frankenthaler and create your own 15″x22″ soak-stain painting.
Tuesday, November 5th at 12 p.m. & Friday, November 8th at 5 p.m. – Styrofoam Block Printing – Kids Workshop: Kids will “carve” a design into a styrofoam block as a kid safe method of block printing.
Friday, November 15th at 5 p.m. – How to ZINE! – Adult/Teen Workshop: Learn about the culture of “Zines” and create your own small personalized booklet with drawing and collage.
Tuesday, November 19th at 12 p.m. – Figure Drawing for All Skill Levels – Adult Workshop: Whether you are a beginner or more experienced, practice drawing the human figure from life in timed increments.
Friday, November 22nd at 5 p.m. – Silly Face Framed Portraits – Kids Workshop: Create a silly face collage and then decorate a frame for it!

Led by professor and disaster law expert Christine Cerniglia, this informative session will cover the crucial steps involved in filing an appeal of your FEMA decision.

Club races (weather permitting) on the First and Third Saturday of the month on Boca Ciega Bay. Any DP-N rated boat up to 25 feet is welcome and we have a strong beach multihull presence (A-cat, Formula 18, Formula 16, Hobie 16, Weta etc.).
Registration: Simply show up on a race day and sign in. Guests wishing to race their boats will pay $10.00 per boat and must have proof of liability insurance. After racing we hang out enjoying conversations and food at our club house.

Fishermen’s Village Shops/Boutiques/Restaurants to reopen Friday, November 1st
There is always plenty to do around Charlotte Harbor! While berthed at Fishermen’s Village Marina, A CRUISERS NET SPONSOR, you are certain to enjoy visiting Western Florida’s beautiful Charlotte Harbor/Peace River. The marina and fuel dock are temporarily closed until further notice.
Punta Gorda, FL—Fishermen’s Village management announced today they plan to reopen the retail and dining establishments at the property on Friday, November 1st.
Fishermen’s Village has been in clean up and recovery mode following Hurricane Milton. The Village team of employees along with multiple service contractors have worked tirelessly to prepare the property for reopening. Since the holidays are just around the corner, staff has also been installing lights and décor for the annual Lighting of the Village and Festival of Lights Celebration (which kicks off November 16th).
General Manager, Patti Allen reflected by saying “We are thrilled to have made significant progress on our clean up and recovery efforts thanks to the dedication of our family of employees and merchants. We thank the community for their concern and well wishes and look forward to seeing everyone shopping and dining at our independently owned businesses which are the heart of the Village”!
The Suites at Fishermen’s village will be partially reopened as of November 1st.
King Fisher Fleet and Your Boat Club will reopen Friday, November 1st; however, the Marina and Fuel Dock will be temporarily closed until further notice.

Gulfport City Mandates Cancellation of all Market Events
Due to the devastation of our downtown area, the city has directed the GMC to cancel all markets for the month of October. This includes Tuesday Market, First Friday Art Walk and 3rd Saturday IndieFaire. Please continue to visit downtown and support the businesses that are open.

Witches Gathering at North End Taphouse
Gulflport’s Witches Walk is cancelled this year. But do not fret! It’s the season of the witch, so we want them to have a place to gather and commune.
Come hither all ye witches to The North End Tap House! There is no need to walk! Land your brooms in the Village Courtyard for a night of fun, music and Witches’ Brews.
Saturday October 26th starting at 5pm, there will be a Witchy Gathering at The Taphouse! Wear your witchy attire for a costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for The Scariest Witch, The Sexiest Witch and The Most Creative Witch!Enjoy Witchy Vendors, a Tea Leaf Reader from 5-7 and Tarot readings from 7-9. Readings with Michele, providing spiritual guidance in all life areas using Tarot, angels and intuition.
$20 for 15 mintues.The Emotional Support Band will be playing from 3-6 and Kudu will play at 7, along with KC, a local Gulfport musician.

Throughout the month of October, Brenda McMahon Gallery is donating 10% of ALL SALES REVENUES to Gulfport Hurricane Relief Efforts. So far the Gallery has raised over $1,000 and still has a few more weeks to go.

Brenda McMahon Gallery is excited to celebrate the work of November Featured Artist Ted Wray. Wray is a sculptor who transforms old books into sculptural art pieces by using an exacto knife and a vivid imagination. See how he carves new life into old books.

City of Gulfport Update: A Message from Mayor Sam Henderson
FEMA Assistance and Debris Removal Updates for Gulfport Residents
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing direct assistance to residents impacted by Hurricane Helene. Assistance will be available daily, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at the Gulfport Public Library through Tuesday, October 22, including Sunday.
The City of Gulfport is actively working on debris removal. We ask for your patience, as it may take several months to complete the process. Our focus is on clearing construction materials first, followed by vegetative debris. Multiple passes will be required. Please place your debris near the roadside, away from power lines and other obstacles. Separate vegetative material, construction materials, garbage bags, appliances, and paint for easier collection. Regular sanitation and recycling routes have resumed their normal schedules.

The Gulfport Library will be open today from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. We are pleased to offer internet access, flushing toilets, Wi-Fi, and access to library materials and holds.
While we currently have limited air conditioning, the temperature inside the building remains comfortable. Please note that the city is under a boil water notice, so our water fountain is unavailable.
