      These daytime restrictions will affect very few tall masted cruisers, but, just in case, here is the Local Notice. With 65ft closed vertical clearance, the Cape Fear Memorial Bridge (US 17) crosses the Cape Fear River off the AICW in Wilmington, NC, a popular side trip for many Waterway cruisers.

      NC ‘“ CAPE FEAR RIVER ‘“ BRIDGE INFORMATION
      Mariners are advised to take caution when approaching the US Route 17 Cape Fear Memorial Bridge, over the Cape Fear River, mile 26.8, in Wilmington, NC. The bridge will be undergoing biennial maintenance/inspections and will not be able to open for navigation from March 16 to March 20, 2015, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. The bridge has 65 feet of vertical clearance in the closed position. The channel shall remain open to vessels that can navigate this clearance. Mariners should continue to monitor the Local Notice to Mariners for potential impacts to navigation. Chart 11537 LNM: 07/15
