Deaton’s Yacht Service – Oriental, NC (Statute Mile 181)
Deaton’s Yacht Service is one of two repair yards located on Whittaker Creek, immediately east of Oriental Harbor. The Whittaker Creek entrance channel is well marked.
Deaton’s is a top notch professional boat yard and good for Yanmar parts. Their analysis with pictures makes decision making on what to repair much easier. No concern that they will do as agreed.

We have stopped by Deaton’s Marina several time and have repair work done( generator, rigging, and refrigerator). They have been very helpful on short notice. Their prices are pretty reasonable, and they have a loaner car for expeditions for provisioning and resteraunts. We ate at restaurant south of the main road near the waterfront. I can’t remember the name though. The nice thing about Oriental is that you can anything done except pulling a catamaran.

I hauled out there this spring for the first time, they did great work. I’ve always done all the work myself but back problems and work constraints forced me to hire it out this time. They were very accommodating; I live 400 miles from the coast and they just handled it. They run a professional outfit, I highly recommend them.
