Although the Waterway intersects Morehead City Channel in the inner harbor of Morehead City, this dredging should affect only boaters using the main Beaufort Inlet Channel.
NC ‘“ BEAUFORT INLET- DREDGING
The DUTRA Group will conduct dredging operations in Beaufort Inlet between 15 June and 15 Sept 2016. The project includes the dredging of channels, Range A and Range B. Dan Marine Towing will be operating the tug COLONEL along with the barge PAULA LEE and 2 dump scows 24/7. Mariners are strictly cautioned to comply with the Rules of the Road when approaching, passing and leaving the area, and shall remain at a safe distance away from the dredge and related equipment. The tug operator will be standing by on channels 13 and 16 VHF. Traffic should call 30 minutes prior to expected time of passage.
