[EXPIRED] UPDATE! Alligator River Bridge Closed to Navigation, 11/13-17, AICW Statute Mile 84
So much confusion and so many phone calls to arrive at what I hope is the correct and final information on the closures to the Alligator River Bridge next week.
My thanks to George Barr, Carl Jordan, John Viera and others who prompted this posting. See original Local Notice.
Tom and Mel Neale report the following today, 11/9, in BoatUS East Coast Alerts:
NOTE: There has been confusion and misinformation floating around regarding this closure. I spoke with the bridge tender today, Nov.9, 2017. He said that the most updated information which he received yesterday, is that the bridge will not open for marine traffic from Nov. 13-17, 2017, from 7 a.m. till 7 p.m. If there is an emergency, call the bridgetender and it will take two hours to clear the bridge. The bridge tender’s phone is 252 796 7261.
11/9 4:30PM According to the Bridge Control Supervisor, the information above is correct!

We found the easiest, was to stay overnight at the Alligator River Marina, and depart at 6;45AM which the bridge tender honors as a requested opening.
