James Island County Park’s Yoga Fest set for June 20

(CHARLESTON COUNTY) – Embrace the summer solstice during Yoga Fest at James Island County Park! Held in the meadow on the day the sun reaches its highest position in the sky, Yoga Fest offers family-friendly entertainment and activities on Thursday, June 20 from 6 – 8 p.m.

The event will open with a performance by AcroCharlestonSC and live reggae music from Mystic Vibrations at 6 p.m. Yoga flow will be led by local instructors Caroline Nash and Kate Moon, and will conclude with a meditation presented by Kelly George. Yoga is open to all ages and abilities. A kids’ yoga program will be hosted by community partner Empowered Minds, a group that teaches yoga and mindfulness with a focus on downtown public schools. Yoga programs will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the kids’ program held concurrently. All ages and abilities are welcome.

After yoga, participants are invited to join the Acro Yoga Jam at 7:30 p.m. Acro Yoga combines yoga and acrobatics. Anyone interested in trying the activity is encouraged to join in on this fun and informal session.
