FLORIDA – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – MIAMI TO ELLIOT KEY – BISCYANE BAY – DODGE ISLAND BRIDGE: Fender Repair
Brother’s Construction, Inc., acting on behalf of the bridge owner, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will perform repairs of the southwest fender system of the Port Boulevard Bridge (Dodge Island Bridge) Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway MM: 1089.4 commencing March 1, 2021 with an estimated completion date of May 1, 2021. Work will occur Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
The repairs will be performed from a barge spudded to the west of the fender system and outside of the navigable channel. The barge will remain in this location for the duration of the project and be properly lighted at night. The Tug Annie will be with the barge and may be reached by VHF radio on channel 9. A small assist vessel may at times, during work hours only, be tied off to the channel side face of the south west fender flare. Vessels are advised to transit the area with caution and maintain a no wake speed.
