[EXPIRED] LNM: AICW MM 237 Dredging, Nov 17-Dec 17, Problem Stretch, Browns Inlet, NC
Dredging is very welcome at this Problem Stretch which is notorious for shoaling and shifting channels. The USCG regularly relocates buoys to indicate the best water. Mid to high tide is recommended. Sharp watch and no wake are required in the vicinity of dredge equipment.
NC – ICW – BOGUE SOUND – NEW RIVER – DREDGING
Southwind Construction Corp will conduct dredge operations starting on NLNM:ovember 17, 2021 to December 17, 2021. Dredging will be in Browns Inlet Crossing, Onslow County North Carolina, Dredging Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Channel Section 2 Tangent F with beach placement at Onslow Beach near Camp Lejeune, NC.Operations will take place 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dredge: Andi Rae, Workboat: Ann Kay & Miss Leanne will monitor Channel 13 & 16, and Working Channel 79. Submerged and floating pipeline associated with dredging operation; use extreme caution in the area. Mariners are urged to transit at the slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made. Pipeline and vessels will be visibly lighted and marked pursuant to Coast Guard regulations. Submerged pipeline will be positioned parallel and adjacent to the shoreline of the federal channel thence traversing upland and southeast to the beach fill placement area on Onslow Beach.
