LNM: Dredging Underway, Ft Pierce FL AICW Statute Mile 966.5
Waterway dredging is always welcome and, as usual, caution and wake monitoring are required in vicinity of dredge equipment.
FLORIDA – AICW- PALM SHORES TO WEST PALM BEACH – INDIAN RIVER SOUTH SECTION: AICW Channel Deepening Dredging Operations.
Gator Dredging will commence dredging operations in the AICW of Fort Pierce adjacent to the Fort Pierce City Marina on or about February 11 until approximately April 30, 2020 – operations will occur 24 hours per day – 7 days per week. Dredge GATOR SWINGING DRAGON will monitor VHF channels 16 & 68. Mariners are urged to use extreme caution in the area, transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake, and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made. Floating and submerged high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipeline associated with the hydraulic dredging operations of the AICW channel will be utilized. Pipeline, work vessels, temporary mooring piles, and buoys will be lighted and will remain in the project area until all work is complete, the configuration could change daily. Boaters launching trailers at public ramp located at 600 Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 should take extra caution when departing and returning from ramp as dredge spoil management operations and pipeline crossing are located between AICW and Fisherman’s Wharf.
