With a fixed clearance of 56ft, the Julia Tuttle Causeway Bridge crossed the Waterway in Miami Beach.
FLORIDA – AICW – WEST PALM BEACH TO MIAMI – MIAMI HARBOR / JULIA TUTTLE CAUSEWAY: Fender Repairs
DBI Services, LLC., acting on behalf of the bridge owner, Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), will be performing repairs of the east Julia Tuttle Causeway fender system due to deterioration of walers and concrete piles. The contractor will complete the work from a small work boat and barge, mainly from behind the existing fender system and outside of the navigable channel. Work is scheduled to begin on November 24, 2020 and continue through February 2021. Vessels are advised to transit the area with caution and maintain a no wake speed. Future updates will be provided via the local Notice to Mariners as the project progresses.
