With a fixed clearance of 56ft, the Julia Tuttle Causeway Bridge crossed the Waterway in Miami Beach.
FLORIDA – ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY – BISCAYNE BAY – JULIA TUTTLE CSWY (I-195) BRIDGE: Fender Repairs
Shoreline Foundation, Inc. has been contracted by Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) to remove and install new sections to the fender system on the Julia Tuttle Cswy Bridge. The project will begin approximately on 10/10/2018 and will continue thru 12/10/2018. During this time construction will consist of removing and installing approximately 30-40 lineal feet of the fender system. Tentative hours of operation will be 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday thru Saturday. During construction, a barge will be located on the northwest side of the fender system outside of the navigational channel. The barge may be located on the west side of the channel blocking ½ of the channel on occasion for removal and installation of the fender system. During non-working hours, the channel will be clear.
