Recently dredged, Longboat Pass provides Gulf access to northern Sarasota Bay. Construction should not affect navigation.

FLORIDA – TAMPA BAY TO BLACKBURN BAY – LONGBOAT PASS: Construction of Rock Groins
Kelly Brothers Inc. will conduct construction of new rock groins with Barges, Cranes and Excavators at Longboat Pass and the North End of Longboat Key scheduled to begin March 8, 2021 through August 31 2021. Work is not expected to obstruct navigation in Longboat Pass and will be conducted from 27-26-24.56N / 082-41-27.34W (27°26.4094N / 082°41.4557W, 27.440156 / -82.690928) to 27-26-08.68N / 082-41-27.18W (27°26.1446N / 082°41.4530W, 27.435744 / -82.690883) .
