As if there isn’t enough shoaling and shallow water in this area – see photo below! The first of the areas listed and pinned on chart is approximately 1.7 NM SE of Marker 1 at Matanzas Pass.

FLORIDA – GIWW – FORT MYERS TO CHARLOTTE HARBOR AND WIGGINS PASS – MATANZAS PASS: Shallow Depths
During dredging operations on the Matanzas Inlet project in Ft Myers some dredge material was mistakenly misplaced offshore. This has resulted in some areas shallower than normal during low tide. Warning buoys and markers have been placed in the following reported locations:
