If you are able, please consider a tax-deductible donation that will fund projects that create new ways for you to experience our parks. For our OBX national parks, 2021 was a record-breaking year. Nearly 4 million people visited our parks this year, and we don’t see this trend changing anytime soon.
We mentioned recently what this means for our parks – Even though more visitors than ever came to experience these special places this year, our parks don’t receive more funding to operate. That means our park staff have to innovate and make the same resources go further to protect our parks and ensure you had the great experience you’ve come to expect when you visit.
That’s why our parks need your support today. If you are able, please
consider a tax-deductible donation that will fund projects that create new ways for you to experience our parks, while also protecting the history, culture, and environment that are vital to our OBX community.
Your gift today will provide support for on-going projects like our
Adopt A Pony program, and help create new ways for you to explore our parks including:
A paved, multi-use path at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse that will make it safer and easier to run, bike, or walk from Route 12 to the beach and the lighthouse, including a new way to experience the historic 1999 lighthouse move. An Artist in Community residency program that will allow local and national artists to create work inspired by our parks and opportunities for you to learn their techniques. The Aviation Trail Through Time, an accessibility-friendly experience highlighting the Wright Brother’s legacy through important milestones in aviation history, from women in aviation to space flight, and more.
