We are located in the Windmill Harbour Marina on Hilton Head, It is one of only 3 lock protected Marinas on the east coast in a gated community so completely safe and the home of the South Carolina Yacht Club with fixed docks and pilings, so a very good Hurricane, Storm port for leaving your boat. With Hilton Head Airport a 10 minute uber ride away. Serviced by American Airlines and Delta (from Mar19)

Just wanted to comment on the staff and marina facilities at Windmill Harbour . We kept our 43′ motor yacht there over this past winter (2015-16) and believe there is no better choice in the Hilton Head area. Very professional marina staff and pleasant location. The marina is in a gated community so it is safe and secure, and the marina is protected by a lock system which keeps the water depth constant in the marina. It is home to the South Carolina Yacht Club so many nice boats and activities. They welcome transient boaters as well as those for longer stays. One thing to be aware of is that access to stores and restaurants will require transportation as it is a residential area.
We too are in Windmill Harbour and really do enjoy the marina. We’ve been there over 4 years and are going to use it as our home base when we begin cursing full time 3 years from now. It is the most weather protected marina I’ve ever been in. Good clean fuel, easy in and out, and 5+’ at low tide in the approach.
We are docked in Windmill Harbour Marina.
This is a great hurricane spot with a lock so no tides or currents, and homes all around the marina for wind protection, but the marina association discourages full time liveaboards for more than 14 days a month.

Windmill Harbour is a real find, great protection in any weather, reasonable fuel, great food at the SCYC at marina.
