After leaving Crisfield, we motored to the upper St. Mary s River on the Maryland side of the Potomac for a quiet safe and beautiful anchirage. After that SIGMACHI found her way the the FREE & FANTASTIC dockage at Leonardtown, Maryland for a few days.

We then left to go down the Potomac and there had been a vibration in the starboard propeller. Point Lookout Marina was contacted and agreed to haul us the next day. I had not been to Point Lookout Marina in over 20 years. Alas, it appears that some severe damage has submurged many of their dickage.

Do not be deterred! The hospitality, fuel prices and the accumen of the staff and mechanics was outstanding. The vibration? One of the hazzards of the Chesapeake Bay…a crap pot had fouled our prop!

Wow ! This is a great stopping off point. Channel was well marked, dock and power were clean. Took on a 100 gallons of diesel, and Jennifer was kind enough to stay a few minutes late to help us. Restaurant on site was perfect and they even loaned us a rental car for free to pick up some dingy fuel with no ethanol down the road. We highly recommend these wonderful folks and there facility. Cheers ! "Moonraker" , 48' Jarvis Newman Trawler
