Stay away! Don’t be lured by inexpensive docking. No laundry, no fuel, no water extremely loud music at waterfront till midnight! Uber ride to do laundry which is 2.1 miles away is $17.00 each way!

6-28-17. Still at Waterside Marina. We have always sought out the secluded, quiet and peaceful, but are so glad we came here. Totally different. Movie night again- Moana, the Disney movie. Crowds of people, noisy, loud music, but we are having a great time! If go in the saloon, hear nothing if need a break. Spent most of day at the Nautica Museum and the Wisconsin- could have stayed longer- fantastic. Had lunch in Hell’s Kitchen on Granby St- at most 2 blocks from here. Jackie had the ceasar salad with grilled tuna and I had a spicy shrimp wrap- both excellent. Ginger served us. From the outside looked like a place we would not have gone, but John, dock boss, suggested it. So glad he did and that we went. There are too many bars and restaurants to mention- all within a short walk. There is a pumpout but have not needed. No fuel. Only 1 negative- and a big 1- but will not keep us from returning- is that the bath/showers are so far away and have to walk thru the crowds carrying towel, etc.– but no real problem to shower on boat for 2-3 days!

6-27-17- Left Urbanna at 5:45 and arrived at Waterside marina– about mm0- at 12:30. Waterside Marina a great place- very “happening.” Lot of activity, noise, ferry horn, but very much ok for us. Had cocktails and app’r at Blue Moon and supper on boat. The large break water keeps wakes down- otherwise be impossible to stay here. Fun to look at all the river traffic- big and little. Really like this place. Tomorrow will go to Wisconsin, museum and town. Docks are very nice and wifi very strong- just be sure to ask to be near the repeater. Drew dockhand very nice, John, dock boss. Easy in and no current to speak of. Strong Verizon. Bath rooms/showers are a long walk away, but are new and nice. Too many good eating places to mention. John suggested the Hells Kitchen for all round good stuff at reasonable prices. Now 8:15 and seems to have quited down and we really feel well being here. Long way to walk dog, but OK. Don’t know about coutesy car, etc.. May add to this tomorrow.

        “Marina is Closed”
We phoned and made a reservation, and when we arrived three dockhands directed us to a slip and helped us tie up. It was the last day of Harbourfest. A couple of hours later someone came by and told us that the marina was closed and that we would have to leave. I asked him if he was the harbourmaster, and he said no, so we ignored him. But then two of the dockhands that helped us tie up also told us that the marina was closed and that in spite of the reservation, we would have to leave. They offered to lets stay some other time, but I told them that we would not be back——ever.
