Spending a bit of time at Cricket Cove marina. Dock Master, Capt Bill and the staff are pure examples of outstanding South Carolina hospitality. Fuel prices are great. Snookies restaurant above the marina offices is a real treat! Capt. Jerry B
I have stayed at Cricket Cove in 2003, 2005, 2011 and most recently 6-8-2013. Tropical Storm Andrea had just passed through the area and winds were a good 20 knots out of the S. Arriving at Cricket Cove at low tide 3:30 PM, Siskiwit grounded approximately 15′ off the fuel dock. We thew a line to Brian and asked him to simply cleat us off as we’d wait for half tide. My depth sounder showed 5.9′ at that moment. High tide that evening was 8.9. This was a first for Cricket Cove and they report they will be dredging in the fall of 2013. Its a great marina, good food, friendly folks, cheap diesel and due to the inconvenience offered a discount on the face dock. Not a big deal, but when one calls in advance and providing that we are 6′ draft, there should be greater awareness of expressing the conditions one is to find upon arrival.

Just wanted to let the loopers know about the best fuel price we have seen in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina! Cricket Cove Marina at Little River, SC 29566, is selling diesel at $3.80 per gallon, including taxes! We just fueled up the boat and saved $$$ here! If you are cruising north this spring or heading south in the fall, check out this marina’s prices! Bill Cramer is the manager and his # is: 843-249-7169. Great restaurant at the marina too! Stanley and Colleen Anderson
Made a quick stop here for gas before leaving South Carolina heading North on ICW. Very friendly staff and the best gas/fuel prices along the SC ICW. Last stop before you get into North Carolina’s high prices. They are trying to keep boating affortable given the high energy cost we are experiencing. They should be patronized for this fact alone.
I have stopped and stayed at many marinas in my over fifty years of boating on the East Coast, and I can categorically state that I have not found a better-run, cleaner, or more pleasant place to keep “The Lady T”, a Trojan Tri-Cabin trawler, than Cricket Cove Marina. I’m sure there must be comparable marinas somewhere, but I haven’t haven’t found one yet that combines secure docking, attention to detail, and the pleasant and accommodating staff, that I found at this place. it is a gem ! Captain Bob Viola The Lady T
Both LKM [Lightkeepers Marina] and MBYC are very good stops. I favor Light Keepers mostly because I am a member there. But there are really good folks at both places. James Blanton is the dock master at LKM. He is always accommodating for transients and renters. Ask him about monthly rentals. We have some great pricing this summer. The Officers Club at MBYC has a very nice informal food. Good cruisers talk going on there all the time. Clarks, right next door is more upscale and is really good also. LKM also has pump out available. Pools at both places. West Marine about 3 miles away. Food shopping about 2 miles. Very laid back nice stop over whichever you choose. John Beaver
We stayed at LKs in April 2013. We were blown away by the friendliness and hospitality of James and the locals. James arranged an appointment when my cat needed a vet, plus dropped me off and picked me up. The marina was cute, clean and you won’t beat the price. We draw 6’9″ and had absolutely no problem getting in.
Floating docks, climate controlled bathrooms, showers and laundry facilities. On site pool. 1 1/2 mile boardwalk around the harbor. Friendly and welcoming dock master, James and assistant Bob. Two restaurants within the harbor. Clarks (formerly Umbertos) and Jug Handle Inn of the South (formerly the Officers Club.) Waffle House, Dunkin Donuts and Sunnyside Grill within walking distance. Mary
We have kept our boat at Lightkeepers Marina, Little River, SC many times. Coquina Harbor, it’s basically the North Myrtle Beach area. http://www.lightkeepersmarina.com/ Floating docks, quiet and secure with great rates, phone James the Dockmaster for their best rates. Phone 843 249 8660. Tell them the Aussies told you to call. We’re here at the moment on our boat and plan on staying until mid January, maybe longer. Rod and Pauline “Two by Two” Nova Scotia 47 Pilothouse Trawler
I have a condo at Coquina Harbor. Depths have been good since the dredging of the harbor was completed. I have a shallow draft boat, but I asked the owner of a 6.5 foot draft sailboat that stays here how he found depths throughout the harbor. He said he had seen nothing less that 7.5 feet at low tide. This inquiry was made 9/04/09. I came through the entrance at high tide on 9/05/09 and my depth sounder indicated 14.5 feet. When I really want to reward myself, I have pork chop at Umburto’s. We have stopped here both coming and going to the Bahamas over the last ten years. We’ve never been disappointed. Sandy Otten, the dock master, could not be more friendly. We rate it one of the best small marinas on the ICW and a great value. Bill Murdock
21 April 2015, attempted to anchor in the creek [Calabash] but saw that the anchorage had shoaled badly. Rather than anchor within the channel, we went back to Coquina Yacht Club marina for a fantastic rate of a dollar a foot plus three bucks for power with BoatUS. Third night is free. Barry Umberger
We docked four boats there for a few months, found it safe and clean. The lady that handles the dock keeps an eye on your (all) boats, and takes excellent care of things. Faith

MBYC gets our vote. Clean and well maintained through out. Great restaurant next door. Great dock staff. The entire staff was very kind and attentive when Lenny threw his back out of whack. Lenny and Louise Anderson
It’s a great marina, right on Hwy 17 and convenient to many things. To me it feels like a marina, not really a “Yacht Club”, very welcoming to transients and affordable. Hubert Hopkins
Stayed there over a soggy Memorial Day weekend. Good price ($1/ft with Boat US discount), great facilities, helpful dock personnel (Bud and Lex), friendly locals. Tight entrance, so be careful.
7-5-17. Left Harbor Village at 6:15am. Beautiful day all day. Changed plans when realize get nto Southport way too early and changed to MBYC at mm346. Fueled up– 80 gal/stb. And 62.2 in port -total 141.6. With Boat US dockage was $34!!! (my boat is 34″) $5 for electricity- 30 amp. Gene was as competent as cute helping us dock and take on fuel. Have a pass to get in the club’s grill- taco and tequila sunrises on very special! Shower secure, clean and even the soap dispensers had soap. Wifi strong on A-10. Easy to take dog out. No current and maybe a foot tide fall. Docks in great shape. We are here for only 1 night but may be a very good place for several days since so much going on around here. We will be back – most definitely.
Myrtle Beach Yacht Club Arrived around 3:45 and melted into the dock. Been a long day, lots of slow going with a lot of no wakes. And it has been hot. Stopped at Osprey for fuel, best prices in the area, then continued to Myrtle Beach for the night. To hot to cook so we eat at Clarks, its right next to the marina. Every thing was excellent. Had a problem with the electric “Y”, had to get one ordered from West Marine. Had two days to enjoy the area, we rented a car and did just that. Found some fresh shrimp and did them on the Barbee. Then were able to find Fishy Fishy, had a fantastic meal. Great stay. Phil Herl
Paula Spence, M/Y Sea Eagle- July 12, 2014 - 6:39 pm
We just spent two weeks at MBYC (our second visit) and had a great time. At $1.00 a foot (Boat US discount), you simply can’t beat this place. The pool is immaculate, the restaurant has great food and good music, and the social life is terrific. Saw old friends and met several new friends. Highly recommend stopping here if you never have.
Sitting in Myrtle Beach Yacht Club as I write….. now our favorite stop in Myrtle unless we need supplies. It has a nice Laundry with computers, swimming pool and is set back off the intracoastal. 2 good restaurants on site and Little River is the actual location but only about 6 miles North of Barefoot. 2 night stay was $87.50 for a 40 footer with 50 amp service….friendly resident boaters. Guru
Paula Spence, M/Y Sea Eagle- September 5, 2013 - 12:49 pm
We just stopped here for two nights to visit and catch up with some other cruising friends we hadn’t seen in a while. What a great spot this is! The staff and the boaters are all very friendly, beautiful pool, nice laundry room with plenty of machines, a healthy book exchange and a computer for boaters to use. The docks have combination security gates. We weren’t here long enough to check out the exercise area but plan to stop back next year on our way north and possibly stay awhile. The area’s seafood restaurant choices are endless but you do need transportation. We ate at Captain Poo’s last night. I’m usually up for trying new and unusual dishes so I had the cheeseburger with a friend egg on top. I’d never heard of it before but it was fantastic!!
Both LKM and MBYC [Myrtle Beach Yacht Club] are very good stops. The Officers Club at MBYC has a very nice informal food. Good cruisers talk going on there all the time. Just a friendly reminder that Myrtle Beach Yacht Club in Little River,SC has remained at $1.25 per foot regular and $1.00 per foot for Boat US members. Come see us and save some $$. Happy Boating! Bud Coonfield
MBYC is in Little River, not Myrtle Beach. We stayed here on our way north last spring, and then again last week (13 September). Both times we have been very pleased. The staff is knowledgable and very helpful. They drove us over to West Marine late in the day before it closed. Facilities are A-1. Good value. There is a nice walkway for exercise that goes all around Coquina Harbor. People seem to be very friendly. We would definitely go again.
We stayed the night 11/2/2011. Great place, nice docks, nice people. Marina closes about 5:30 so be there before. One of the best spots on the east coast. need to take a cab to get supplies, West Marine within a 10 min. cab ride
SweetPea is now located at Myrtle Beach Yacht club mile marker 345.9 and and will remain here till after the Thanksgiving holiday. Though we have just arrived I can say this the people here are very friendly and the Officers Club (restaurant) is excellent ! Those boaters heading south if you land here for a night or extended stay stop in and see us. The entrance of the harbour is marked by a lighthouse. Jim and Dale McGovern aboard SweetPea
Submitted on 2010/05/22 at 5:42pm As we are departing Myrtle Beach we hear chatter on the VHF regarding the number of boats in the Calabash Creek anchorage. This was to be our destination but it was already crowded so we opted to stay at the Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. The tide was low and water depths into the harbor basin were very skinny. Darn near heart stopping at one point. Even at the dock we were very close to sitting on the bottom (our draft 4.5″). We were helpfully refueled and docked by the staff. We were both a little tired so instead of fixing dinner, we decided to go to the Officer’s Club Restaurant. We were pleasently surprised. The atmosphere and food were great. We both had excellent meals. We had crab stuffed mushrooms, steak, and shrimp scampi,. We even decided to have desert and enjoyed a monster “Brownie Tower” with coffee. After that fabulous meal we walked about the facility a bit. This place really surprised us. A great place to stop. Captain Dick Litchfield
Very pleased with MBYC. Loved the rate. We are Sea Tow but they still gave us the Tow Boat rate. Excellant Pecan Pie at the Officer’s Club Restaurant. The rental car was from an outside contractor and it was a bit over the hill (that is kind), but the club facilities were excellant. It is also a very protected marina, all inside a basin.
Subject: MYBC Officers’ Club Cruising News: Not wanting to get back out in the Myrtle Beach Bikers Rally, we went to the Marina’s Officers’ Club restaurant (actually a private club), and we were very pleased. This was a 4.5 star dining experience. I have had bad luck with gumbo this trip so this time I asked for a taste. I was brought a condiment bowl on a doilied saucer with the gumbo, rice and garnish. It was Seafood Creole (almost a Cioppino). But it was very good creole! After excellent shrimp with Thai Chili sauce for an appetizer, when the creole dinner serving arrived, it was literally beautiful. A cookbook cover photo. My wife’s stuffed flounder was every bit as well prepared and presented. Ryan, waiter, did a great job. The Marina has been an excellent place to keep the boat for a week while we took care of land side must dos. We strongly recommend this secure, clean, well run establishment. I need to add that MYBC’s capital investment in new head and shower facilities paid off. The new arrangement is excellent. Chris Waln
Actually stayed at the HarbourGate marina next door, but next time will stay at Anchor Marina because of the great service and congeniality. Had some water pump problems that I couldn’t seem to fix by myself, so on a Saturday morning two mechanics from Anchor Marine came over to help. It was a vexing but simple problem and it took them more than a couple hours to solve. They were VERY reasonable on the fee and were really helpful. Highly recommend.
Fitzcat- November 9, 2010 - 8:47 pm
If you need help on the waterway, talk to “Guy” at Anchor marina. He was absolutely super with us and helped us problem solve possible reasons for breaking alternator belts on on engine. He is very professional, very reasonable, and extremely easy to work with. Highly recommended.
Harbourgate has been our home away from home for the last two years. The service is superb, the water is fresh to brackish, and the location is ideal. One of the best features is their harbour cam that allows a boat owner to see his boat even when he is away. Richard Ross
We stopped here last year. Our dog loves marinas where they are given treats in the office, and Suzi exceeded his expectations (she was very helpful and friendly to us as well)! This is a very easy in and out stop, with fuel and pumpout. All floating docks. We did eat at the adjacent Filet’s Restaurant, and it was very nice as well. Larry Freedman
Harbourgate marina is in semi-fresh water at MM 347. The basin is an excellent hurricane hole and if you pay in advance, Susie will only charge you $9/ft [monthly rate]. First class docks, etc. Also you can watch your boat on their harbor cam while you are gone. MB airport has connections to all major cities. Restaurants, West Marine, etc close by. John & Sue Winter
we stopped there initially to fuel up and get a pump-out, but just before we got there, an alternator belt broke. The wonderful staff there helped us get into the dock with the current, and were wonderful in helping us get a mechanic from nearby Anchor Marina. The staff at this marina are wonderful. They were extremely friendly, helpful and did everything they could to be helpful to us. WE ended up staying night and will certainly return to this wonderful facility.
Visited there by land, and they are doing very well. Great marina manager. They are filling up though as the condos are being sold. But staying there is still an option. Next door at Anchor Marina, it is still a viable place to stay. John and Sue WInter on Miss Liberty
Dock Holidays is alive and well. Same GREAT service is still be provided by Dock master Rhett Dickson. There are now TWO bars on site, along with TWO fishing boats and PWC rental. Rates are inexpensive and it is above the salt line.
We decided to stay here for a week so I have a few items to add.
The docks float so the tie-up is easy.
The kids (or visitors) can rent PWCs here at the marina and there is a boat that takes passengers on a dolphin watch and another takes passenges out fishing.
The marina still has no laundry and the nearest coin laundry requires a car.
The restaurant on the ICW is still closed but a Bar/Restaurant behind it opens at 4:00 pm Tuesday – Sunday. They have a band every night from 7:00 pm til 10:00 (later on weekends). The music is loud and if you want to sleep before 10:00, hatch up.
The beach is about a mile walk eastbound on 11th ave which originates directly across from the marina. Access areas are a short walk either way when you reach Ocean Dr.
Route 17 runs parallel to the ICW here but you can cross it at the walk light at 11th Ave. For dining options, Carrabas and Dirty Dick’s Crab House is a short walk and on the same side as Rt 17. Across Rt 17 and southbound is an ATM, Food Lion, CVS, and Chippers Grill. A longer walk south is Fridays and BW3. Also across Rt 17 and further south is Home Depot and Walmart. If your nails are looking rough from weighing anchor, Happy Nails is next to BW3. Northbound on Rt 17 is an Applebees and an Outback.
Rhett and Matt will serve you well here at Dock Holidays.
Friendly, helpful management. Low rate for week’s stay. Close to beach, bicycle rental, mini-golf (choice of two theme-type courses). Very pleasant restaurant and patio bar.
Subject: Dock Holidays Marina dredged ! Cruising News: I am pleased to advise you that the harbor at Dock Holidays Marina in North Myrtle Beach, SC has been dredged to a depth of 7’, (seven) feet. I recall that you requested we share such information, when you addressed us at the North Strand Power Squadron. This marina is cited on pages 5 and 17 of your,”Cruising Guide to Coastal South Carolina and Georgia”. If you need further information you may contact the Dockmaster, Rhett Dickson at the same number that is listed in your publication, (843) 280-6354. Gene Hoge
Hi Bryant, I suggest you contact Guest Services at Barefoot Landing, 843-272-8349, to inquire about availability of dock reservations. Good luck! Larry
Last time we will stay at Barefoot Landing Marina. In addition to no bathroom/shower facilities the WiFi is terrible and they had no ice on a day with temperatures in the 90’s.
I have stayed there and at Barefoot Landing by the outlet stores. Face dock every time. I’ve never had a problem with wakes, it’s a no wake zone. If jet skis bother you, travel from here to Little River in winter or heavy rain. The ICW here is polluted with them [jet skis] and for most of the operators, this is the first time they have ever driven a boat. Ron
We are here now (08/20/2011). We’ve been here three days and are leaving tomorrow. Friendly staff and easy dockage. The costs go down the longer you stay. Ice is available.
Plenty of restaurants and “beach” type stores within walking distance. The restrooms are public, but clean.
Just keep in mind, it’s a “dock”, not a “marina. No pool, no showers, no captain’s lounge, etc.
Just a quick note to say good spot, many restaurants and shops, very helpful dockmaster BUT at present no showers. Restrooms yes, showers no. Wanted to correct the listing. Leigh on Raconteur.
Arrived here about 1500 and were greeted by Mark the Dockmaster. He expertly helped us tie up our dock lines and adjust fenders. Price is $1.50 per foot and that includes electric and WiFi which makes it a great deal. The welcome pack includes info on the shopping area and a great discount coupon to T-Bones. The docks are in great shape and very easy to approach from the waterway.
9/11/15 My husband and I cruised icw from south harbor marina to barefoot marina for our first adventure on the icw. Upon our arrival at barefoot; we informed the dock master that my husband could use some assistance in docking due to being partially disabled from a stroke 6 years ago. They were more than welcome to accommodate us and assist us in anyway possible upon arrival and departure and our entire stay. They are definitely a must stop on your travels. MOST definitely we will be returning to barefoot on our next adventure. Thanks so much to Barefoot Marina for a Great first experience!!! Joe Miller
We usually stop on the opposite side of the ICW, but thought we would try it out on the other side. Good choice. Dock master was great help, facedock quiet, and the onsite restuarant had very good happy hour.
Stayed here 4/28 and 4/29/13. Stayed here in fall. Stayed on face dock with no problems. Could have gone to inside dock if desired. Great help docking. Good shore facilities. Now has decent restaurant which is big feature due to distance to restaurants on east shore. Good shopping within a couple of miles but no way, except cab, to get there. Good place to stop for night since anchorages are limited in area. Can’t beat the $1.25/ft. price given the nice facility. Will stop again. s/v Skye
Helpful dockmaster, Cheap fuel, a pool and hot tub with nice showers. The on shore restaurant is a typical marina restaurant with a good raw bar and happy hour till 6pm. The food was good, not great. JackP
We have spent several months at Barefoot Marina, off and on usually in the off-season, say November – April. It is a wonderful facility, great floating concrete (Bellingham)docks, right on the ICW. Easy walk or bike ride across the bridge to Barefoot Landing and lots of restaurants and shops….although the shopping is not as nice as it was 5 or 6 years ago. Also, Alabama Theater is right there and has good shows. Talk directly to Bill Rathbon about rates. They are very inexpensive for what you get…nice showers, pool, very clean facility. Be sure to eat at the Seafood Hut across the street and slightly north of Barefoot Landing – small and little atmosphere, but great food and great owners. I can guarantee you’ll get a hug before you leave. [If] you’re talking about being there for several months you might want to look in to purchasing one of the restaurant discount books, which offer many great buy one get one free deals at the nicest restaurants. Use it twice and its paid for itself! Sold by Ritz Limo, I’m sure Bill can help you get in touch…the owner keeps his boat there at the marina I think. Betsy Johnson Rick ‘n Roll
Barefoot Resort Marina; This was, and will be again, our home marina. We live at Barefoot Resort so this was an obvious choice for us. We have sailed up and down the East coast between here and New England for the last several years. Lately more north than south I’m afraid. We have seen the good, the bad and the UGLY when it comes to east coast marinas. In my opinion you will not find a nicer, cleaner and more upscale facility then Barefoot Resort Marina. Bill Rathburn and George have been friends and honorary crew members aboard Spirit, our C&C 40. They are also very pet friendly with our Labrador Genny. You all know that they are quite competitive regarding dock fees. Spirit has a 7′ draft. (7’3″ to be exact). She gets in and out at high water. Other times require caution as we have been aground there also. But forewarned is forearmed as I like to say. Just be aware of the height of tide when approaching with over 5′ of draft. It is worth it.
On May 20th I was getting ready to dock at Barefoot Resort Marina(that’s the one on the left as you go north on the AICW) in N. Myrtle Beach, SC. A dock hand was standing on the face dock directing me into the dock when I ran aground on a sand bar. It was low tide and I draw 5 ft. I could not wiggle or move my boat from the bar. I called Tow Boat U.S. and the Little River , SC location dispatched a boat. It was on scene within 40 minutes. I have a 42 ft. Endeavour Sail and within a few minutes the tow operator hooked a line to the bow and proceeded to pull my craft straight through the shoal. It stalled in the middle of the shoal and the tow operator increased the power significantly and pulled us through the shoal and off. Later I discovered that a shoal had been building for some time and no one at the marina told us about it. The next day when we left, we had to go very carefully until we found the opening through the shoal to get out into the waterway. The shoal is within 50 ft. of the dock and in the middle of the waterway. We did not think too much of this incident until about a week later when the bilge pump started going off more than usual. Then another week went by and we were in Ocracoke and the bilge pump was going off every 30 seconds. We made it back to Oriental and was pulled out by Sailcraft and water came pouring out of our keel. The bottom of the keel had been punctured and the fuel tank and water tank had been ruptured. We had been taking on water for over 3 weeks and it finally got to the point that it was filling up the bilge. Our boat is now high and dry with the bottom of the keel cut out. The boat yard is going to remove the generator and remove the water and fuel tanks and build custom tanks to take their place and repair the keel. The boat will be in the boat yard most of the summer. So, please be careful when transiting the area around the Barefoot Marina resort and stay in the middle of the channel. They are just south of the section called the “rock pile” in Myrtle Beach. Captain Phil Mullins S/V Katash Isle of Palms, SC
I can echo the recent reviews. We stayed at Barefoot Marina April 21-22, 2012 and found the facility and the staff terrific. The layout is great, with the dock close to the office and only a short walk to the showers, laundry, etc. Also had a nice dinner at the new restaurant, DockSiders, last night. Flounder was very nice, and reasonable. The rates here can’t be beat, $1.25/foot, and free pump-out. Boat-US discount on fuel as well. It’s only a short walk over the swing bridge to the ocean which is beautiful here.
Rick and I have stayed at Barefoot Marina since October, 2011. We just left today April 22, 2012, headed for Norfolk. We just wanted to pass on that this marina is a great place to stay for an extended time or just for overnight. The service at the docks is great and the attitude of the entire staff is outstanding. They have excellent facilities and a restaurant on site. A grocery store, drugstore and medical facility are within walking distance. Barefoot Landing with all the shops and more restaurants and other entertainment options are also within walking distance. You get all this at very excellent rates ($1.25). We cannot begin to say enough nice things about our stay at this marina. Rick & Margi Decatur Journey 44′ Endeavour Power Cat
We took a short Easter trip south last week. After a very unfriendly “Welcome to South Carolina” by the bridge tender at the Little River Swing Bridge we found ourselves with good weather and great SC Marinas. The first was the Barefoot Marina. Friendly helpful staff and clean facilities. If you are a biker or runner/walker this marina is located in an area with great wide sidewalks that stretch out in some very nice neighorhoods. Also, short walk across bridge to shops and restaurants.
Many [cruisers] are about to arrive in Myrtle Beach, so we wanted them to know of one of our favorite places. Having just spent a month at The Barefoot Marina in Myrtle Beach, SC, we thought it appropriate we let others know of our experience. The Barefoot Marina, site of the 2010 Spring [AGLCA] Rendezvous, is on the western side of the ICW across from Barefoot Landing and the Alabama Theatre. The staff is friendly and courteous. The private showers and restrooms are clean and well stocked. The concrete floating docks are the most stable and best floating docks we have ever seen or tied to. There is a restaurant/bar/grill onsite. There is a place on the dock for daily DOCKTAILS. Pumpout is FREE. Gas/Diesel is available at competitive prices. Dockage is very fairly priced and very competitive. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are included in the dockage rate and keypad locked gates surround the docks. Washers and dryers(they actually dry your clothes). We hope everyone will consider this fine marina. We, Rick and Betsy on Rick ‘N Roll, have no financial interest in the property. It is just one of our favorite places to stay. Rick Johnson
We have kept the ‘Fran C’ at Barefoot Marina for two years now and have nothing but good to say! 1st class personnel and facilities; Bill and George really do a great job. Looking forward to year Three!
We recently moved our boat from Florida and after checking out a lot of marinas selected Barefoot Marina at North Myrtle Beach. It’s pretty far north of Beaufort but lots of benefits; Great people, excellent docking system, fresh water and the most reasonable rates that we found anywhere. Also have diesel at very competitive rates. The web site doesn’t provide a lot of info but does include contact information. Check with Bill or George, they really work to make your stay pleasant. I have kept our boat at Barefoot Yacht Club for over a year now and it is a great place for the family. We love the pool and the employees at the marina. There are a lot of things to do close by and we would not keep our boat anywhere else.
Barefoot Resort – North Myrtle Beach, SC, ICW mm 354. This is our home marina!!! The ownership of this marina has transferred this past year, and the marina is doing great! The facilities are top notch, well kept, and definitely what you expect from a resort location. They are full service, with showers, laundry, and fuel onsite, and unbelievably great restaurants and shopping very nearby. Our harbor master and dock master are people who have been with Barefoot Yacht Club from its opening, and they are truly committed to serving the boating public. We have been members from the beginning and are thrilled with the changes that have occurred these past few months. We highly recommend this marina as a stop on your trip southbound this winter! Captain Ron and Sabra Morgan
Please be advised I have received a lease for a slip at Barefoot Resort Marina. They are fully operational and as far as I know are vetting operators for the onsite restaurant. Paul Crosby
Barefoot Resort Yacht Club, has re-organized and is open for business as The Barefoot Marina. In addition to the existing fine facilities, Dock Master, Bill Rathbun, has added many up-grades, including free pump-out, free WiFi, and Valve-Tech fuel. The restaurant is not yet open, but bids have been offered and the restaurant should be open soon. Transient slips remain at $2.00 per foot with a BoatUS discount price of $1.50 per foot. Not to be confused with Barefoot Landing Dock across the Waterway, the Barefoot Marina lies on the western side of the AICW, just below Barefoot Landing Bridge. You can reach the marina at 843-390-2011 or brc2011@live.com.
Traveler 12-30-16. At Grand Dunes Marina since yesterday. Disappointed that they have stopped the bottle of wine and the coupon for Ruth Cris! Lynn and daughter Madison are the dock hands and do a great job. Thought showers were not as nice as in past- could have been cleaner and looked better. Noticed immediately wifi slow to not even connect. Told Lynn. I even put phone within 6′ of repeater for B dock– maybe max of 1-2 Mbps. Zero at boat. Was never fixed. Lynn could take us in a van to wherever- no loaner car. The happy hour at Ruth Cris was great!! Charlie and Jackie on TRAVELER.

Staff and people were nice. Ten minute walk across the street to a wonderful Lowe’s Supermarket with anything you could imagine. We couldn’t, but the Opry looks like a nice evening show and everything in walking distance. We were not here in the warm weather though, and I don’t know how the access to the beaches were.
Great facility. Dock hands were the best I have seen. Very courtious and informative. When we docked, we did not have to do a thing, they tied us up and made all of our hookups. Even got a free bottle of wine!
Very good experience. Dockhands really excellent and the staff is quite friendly. Even got a free bottle of wine when I registered! Courtesy van gave me a ride so I could do some grocery shopping.
We are here- 9-3-09 -for the 2nd time from about 1 year ago. Came up from Isle of Palms, SC– about 100 mile trip. Marina at Grand Dunes is Great!! Dock hand Adam is friendley and knowledgeble. Boat US discount for 1.75/ft– includes power, wifi, cable, etc. Have not gone to Ruth Cris’s or Anchor Cafe, which is overlooking- literally- the ICW, but will tomorrow. Docking is EASY since no current at all. Definately recomend Marina at Grand Dunes. Charlie and Jackie on Elixir
We stayed at Marina at Grand Dunes for 4 days and enjoyed the peace and quiet, dog friendly, beautiful pool, clean facilicities, and very friendly, accommodating staff. The docks are great and it is very well protected marina. There was no courtesy car, but the hotel van will take you to their private beach. We rented a car while we were there. We would definitely stay there again. It was like a mini vacation! Barbara and Jim Benjamin Golden Lily – Nordic Tug 42
Just to let you know, We docked our 57’Selene Andale’ at the Grand Dunes Marina and we have stayed more than a month. Mrytle Beach is a quick bike ride. The staff and dock hands are so pleasant. The chef flew in a very large lobster so so my husband could get his taste of Main. What a wonderful place. We have been cruising for over 1yr. now and this is the very best on the ICW. Kat & Alan
My wife, dog, and I have been at Grande Dunes for almost a month. The time has come for us to go South. We will miss the Marina as we LOVE the Marina. It has a Cafe overlooking the ICW called Anchor Cafe. Scott M/V Lucky Dog
Claiborne, My wife Leslie and myself stayed at the Grand Dunes on two occasions on our cruise to Charleston and back to Wrightsville NC this past May. The facilities are outstanding and the service is equal. It is an easy entry, fuel pumps to your port as you enter. The dock hands are extremely courteous, and the office manager Janet Roop does all she can to make you comfortable. There is a wonderful waterway Deck Restaurant that overlooks the ICW on the property. It was wonderful to walk in the marina office after struggling a bit from our first Tropical Storm and be welcomed as we were. I highly recommend to all. Lou Schwartz
Marina at Grande Dunes is the nicest marina that we have ever stayed at in our 15 years of boating. A MUST STOP. The dockmaster is Captain Bob Strickland. He and his staff David, Chad, Greg, Paula, and Cathy were AWESOME!
My wife, dog, and I have never written a thank you note to a marina for outstanding service. Guess what…we wrote our first thank you note to the Marina at Grande Dunes. Scott Weaver

Grand Dunes Marina in Myrtle Beach, SC; stayed several days here. Great facilities, Ruth’s Chris steakhouse and small bar/restuarant overlooking the AICW. Close to several attractions – Dixie Stampede, Carolina Opry, etc. Quite reasonable with resort amenities, $2/ft, a free courtesy van with driver, and a complimentary bottle of wine upon check in. Again highly recommended Best regards, Chuck Tontsch s/v Memories Oriental, NC

South Carolina- Marina at Grande Dunes is the BEST marina we have stayed at. With a Boat US discount they are very resonable and give you a bottle of wine upon arrival, free muffins for breakfast, free courtesy van (till 5:30), pump out service that flushes your tank and very friendly service. We stayed there 2 nights and hated to leave. Dave and Sandi Lamborne, Sweetness II, cruising up from Florida to NJ

Oct 7 Stopped at Cricket Cove Marina, nice marina.
