See UPDATE for more details. Our thanks to Michele Bennett of St. Augustine Cruisers Net for this (now confirmed by phone to FLDOT) report of a Las Olas Bridge shutdown. Stay tuned for more details ASAP. The Las Olas Boulevard Bridge with a closed vertical clearance of 24ft crosses the Waterway at Statute Mile 1064, south of AICW marker #8.
I’m hearing from people down in Ft Lauderdale that the Las Olas Bridge will not be opening for 3-4 weeks. I’m not finding anything online but from those who have heard from the bridge tender.
Las Olas bridge in Fort Lauderdale is locked down, by order of FDOT. The tender is telling people three to four weeks. if your air draft is more than 27′ [charted at 24ft] or so you will need to plan to go outside between Hillsboro and Port Everglades.
