Deep Creek Lock is the northern most lock of the two in the Dismal Swamp Canal Alternate AICW Route.. The Dismal Swamp Route departs the southbound Waterway at MM 7.2. Your southbound alternate is the Virginia Cut through Great Bridge, VA.

TEMPORARY RESTRICTED LOCK OPERATING SCHEDULE CANCELLED
DISMAL SWAMP CANAL
ATLANTIC INTRACOASTAL WATERWAY
The restricted schedule at the locks at Deep Creek, Virginia and South Mills, North Carolina
between Monday December 6, 2021, and Friday December 10, 2021, has been cancelled. The locks will
remain on normal lock schedule of 8:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM. Operators on the
Dismal Swamp Canal monitor Channel 13.
