September is here! Fall has returned, the kids have just gone back to school, and we are gearing up for an exciting month here in Chowan County. This month is absolutely packed with different exciting events. We can’t fit them all into one email, so make sure you check out our calendar of events here. Here are some of the highlights Exercise for a good cause September 6 and 27th.This month, you can participate in the 5k Mad Dash for Mental Health AND the Friends of the Poor Walk/run. The 5K, supporting Snapback NC, begins on Edenton’s waterfront at Colonial Park on Sept. 6. The Friends of the Poor Walk/run begins and ends at St. Anne’s Catholic Church on September 27th. | | |
| | Armchair Traveler Series-All month longThe Armchair Traveler Series returns on Sept. 8, 15, 22, and 29, exploring a wide range of interesting topics, ranging from the geology of eastern NC (8th) to African American Genealogies of Hope Plantation (29th). All events take place at the Shephard Pruden Library in downtown Edenton. |
Chowan County Regional Fair September 23-27The award-winning Chowan County Regional Fair returns with the theme “Life on the farm is udderly fantastic.” This year, the fair highlights Chowan’s heritage through exhibits, activities, amusement rides, and entertainment with great food on the American Legion Fairgrounds! Enjoy farm and train displays, pig races, a beauty pageant, a baking competition, fair games, and amusement rides! | | |
