Welcome Back Porch Party It’s been a heck of a year, but Gulfport Historical Society is thrilled to announce its grand reopening with a night of outdoor family fun on Friday, May 21, 2021. We will be out on the lawn of the Gulfport Historical Museum with live music featuring local band The Tortugas. We will also have lawn games, crafts, and food. Come celebrate with us and learn about the programming we have planned for 2021-2022.Doors open at 6:30pm. Program begins at 7pm. You can register here. We are always looking for volunteers to help with set up, games, kitchen duty/serving drinks, and manning (or womanning!) the museum, in case folks would like to take a look. Florida Summer Cinema SeriesFlorida Summer Cinema Series is a free event series that will be offered by the GHS on the third Friday of the month from June through September. Movies will be shown outside at the Gulfport History Museum. More details to come! Bring your comfy camp chair, lawn chair or dining room chair and enjoy Florida themed, family friendly movies with GHS. The museum is located at 5301 28th Ave. South. |

Let’s Get It StartedHelp us get the spring season off to a good start! We need volunteers to staff the Gulfport History Museum during the following days and times: Tuesdays from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., as well as Fridays from noon until 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. If you can help, please contact us at info@gulfporthistoricalsociety.org or sign up below. Stroll Through HistoryHike through history as the GHS continues it fact- and fun-filled history walks through Gulfport. These educational strolls offer newbies and long-time residents alike a peak into the history of our seaside town. These walking tours are held the third Saturday of the month, beginning at 3:00 p.m. at the Gulfport History Museum. The cost is $10 per person for non-members and free to GHS members. |
