Current StatusTS Fay is centered near 34.1°N, 33.0°W (SW of the Azores) with max winds to 50 knots. Currently tropical storm force winds extend outward about 40 nm as the center moves NNE at 5 knots. ForecastFay is expected to peak at 60 kt (70 mph) tonight as there is only a brief window for intensification. By Monday, Fay will encounter increasing vertical wind shear and dry air ingestion, initiating steady weakening and is expected to transition into a post-tropical remnant low by Tuesday night. Fay will make a sharp clockwise turn toward the southwest on Monday and then gradually accelerate southwestward.
