A longtime CRUISERS NET SPONSOR, historic Edenton always has an exciting calendar of events and places to visit! Edenton is at the mouth of the Chowan River on the northwest shore of Albemarle Sound.

Spring is here, and Edenton is blossoming with lots of activities and events this May!

With the warmer weather, we’re excited about the many special outdoor activities that are planned. We invite you to book a room in one of our charming B&B’s and spend some time visiting Edenton this next month.

Here are some of the events you won’t want to miss.

Sandi Griffin Art Show on May 2nd

The Chowan Arts Council is hosting a special exhibit of Sandi Griffin’s watercolor paintings on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Come spend the evening enjoying the exhibit, listening to music by Peter Boehling, and eating delicious food from Ya’ll Eat Yet food truck.

If you stay in town for the weekend, you can also join in at the Rocky Hock Community Center for May Play Day on Saturday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. There will be food, contests, crafts, games, and more at this family-friendly community event sponsored by the Rocky Hock Ruritan Club. Additionally, Cornerstone Church is hosting a free May Day Family Event on May 4th at 10:00 a.m. With so many events happening this weekend, you won’t want to miss out!

Sip, Shop, & Spoil Mom for Mother’s Day Weekend!

Why not bring Mom to Edenton for Mother’s Day Weekend? You can celebrate Mom with a special Sip & Shop event in Downtown Edenton on May 9th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Our downtown shops will be ready with beautiful gifts you can pick up to spoil Mom! Vaughan’s Jewelry will be open for a special Mommy & Me event from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., offering sales for Mom and face painting with fairy hair for the little ones. We know moms will love the springtime ambiance and charm of Edenton.

Sunday Garden Stroll on May 19th

The Chowan-Gates-Perquimans Master Gardeners presents a self-guided tour through some of the area’s most exquisite gardens on Sunday, May 19th from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. At each beautiful garden, there will be Extension Master Gardener volunteers to answer questions. Most of the gardens are located at historic sites within walking distance around Edenton, but there are a few gardens in other locations. Come spend a lovely Sunday afternoon strolling through these beautiful, historic gardens and enjoy the springtime blooms!
