Great advise and suggestions: We were caught early one Sunday in a thick fog on the Chesapeake back in 1989 and used a watch for time, boat speed, water depth, and our paper charts to record where we should be along with two crew members watching from bow on both Port and Starboard.
Made it back to Annapolis without a big hitch although in our approach to Bay Bridge, the large dark area in the fog was a bridge pier not an anchored container ship "whew"… Should have known that given the water depth "LOL"

City Manager’s Gulfport Community Update Gulfport Community Update: January 19 – 25, 2025 Due to the resignation of Councilmember Paul Ray, Gulfport City Council will appoint a candidate to fill the vacant Ward III seat. Candidates must be registered voters in Gulfport and have resided in Ward III for at least one year prior to appointment. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume in person to the City Clerk’s office or email tcarrico@mygulfport.us n

Enjoy a variety of local vendors and fresh goods in a cozy, community-oriented setting!

Ah, the life of a liveaboard Sailor…on a Classic Wooden Sailing Yacht… as of August 2024 we are undergoing extensive repair and refit for the next several months(!). In boating terms we are hauled out “on the hard” in Cambridge, Maryland.
I plan to mix Sailing Stories with the challenges and intricacies of restoring a 90-year-old boat. I’m always open to suggestions as to content….please feel free to weigh in as we manage and learn from this unexpected joust. Thank you! ~J

Show dates: 2/28/25-3/28/25Submission is FREE and open to local artists of ALL AGES. Any medium is acceptable. All submissions must be an original work that utilizes one or multiple shades of red in a significant way and/or explores the shape or idea of a heart either visually or conceptually in order to be considered. There is no limit to the amount of works that may be submitted per artist but work will be selected based on cohesion to the theme and space limitations.
